Flopped Battlefront out of the gate, then followed that up with BFV, cancelled BFV support early to "work on BF2042" and released BF2042 in that laughable state. I'm still not optimistic though considering, so I'll see what legit players think of it a few weeks in.
They haven't had a successful game since BF1, though even that game sucked after they gutted the movement which was literally one of the only skill gaps.

BF1 gunplay was mostly bad just because the limb damage multis were the same as body shots and they gutted the movement to nothing so it was just super simple. Plus one shot mechanic for snipers was stupid AF.
Otherwise it would have been OK.
BFV was OK except for the decoupling aim from screen centre but it felt better than BF2042.

FYI, you cannot tapstrafe on controller anymore in any fashion, any controller input disables lurching for a brief period (on retail apex)

You can only do the things you can do out to range. So if you're playing from a bad position or need to rotate yes smoke still has utility. Anything with any semblance of proximity though it becomes useless.
So maybe edge players will still get some use out of Bangalore, but honestly that seems like that's it.
