Only reason apex is still going strong is nothing has come out that can feasibly replace it in terms of gameplay feel. When it came out there was a BR boom and we were getting tons of new BR games on the weekly. Now we are in an FPS lul, nothing has come out in years that has gotten everyone hyped up the same way, pubg, fortnite and apex did. As soon as that something comes out people will just dip because of all the problems, but they dont seem to care. Dare i say it feels like they have actively given up.

I think it isn't even down to just BRs as much as the systems in place for AAA FPS are inherently awful because the only way they make money now is by retention, and that means oppressive matchmaking, lowered skill gaps/raised skill floors, and so there's actively nothing enjoyable about the experience as much as it's just "there" to placate the casual masses in a super sterile environment.
