i need clarification on this for reactive: like i dont get it GETTING back onto target when its like a decent distance from the crohair what makes flicking different from tracking to get back onto target cuz like (smoothness wise with taking speed into account it feels the same)

Flicking is more of a snap of A to B where the speed is high and fairly constant. Think of getting back onto target as more of an acceleration to your tracking.

I typically use my finger and thumb to achieve that slight push or pull

ill get it with practice but i just felt like the confusion for the scenario i was doing so i wasnt sure if i was applying myself properly

Yeah, reactivity is what I consider less a different style of tracking as much as it's a test of all your tracking fundamentals. Your smoothness helps you stay on target and stabilizes your view to better see changes in direction, lack of excess tension allows you to avoid predicting, and centering gives you more room to react while maintaining contact.

Usually the biggest issue I see is with tension because people anticipate the direction change and flick too quickly back to the target where you can get issues with overshooting, or falling out of sync and antimirror aiming on a short strafe making it even harder to tell what the target is doing.

or they place too much importance on tracking the short strafes, so they anticipate like the person said
