Most of the start of the match is tagging generators, but once you start finding survivors you can infect them directly. If you can get right up on them and fill their infection bar, thats the best way to get a quick down (assuming there's no access to windows/pallets nearby)

Blind angles/timings are the same across all killers, it shouldn't matter who you picked

unless you meant for other unrelated reasons

as Madous says, position yourself in a way that makes it difficult for survivors to get in front of you for a flashlight save.

that being said, lightborn is not a useless perk. if you get a full team of survivors with flashlights it effectively renders all their items useless, and in some cases it can put a little mental pressure on survivors in chase as they can rely on it to save them.
