You just need to make sure you can keep following the ball after the first touch. So hit it soft and high. But honestly first touches are the hardest part of an airdribble, and it takes alot of practise to get it down semi-consistent. I have 2.7k hours in the game, so if you can't get it down right away, don't worry.
