and a lot of times you are over air rolling/not pitching up enough so you are getting the reset on the side of the ball pushing it away from you
just practice doing the flips on the ground so your wheels end up facing upwards

deadzone is for controlling dist you gotta move your stick for it to register. there is no analog input on kbm. it is just 100% or 0

You gotta work on how fast you react to having your line up, that's really what's killing you in this clip
The more time you take to do that the more time the ball has to fall and the added force pushes it further away
