tbh the idea that novice players hate demos I think is a bit exaggerated, plenty of them still gladly make use of them

Just that you aren't exactly going to get people complimenting you for a demo, but you will get the people who want to complain about them being very vocal, but they're relatively rare

Generally you have to start demolishing somebody 5+ times to start really getting under their skin anyway and that itself is rare

And that volume will start annoying even pro players (see Comm's 20 demo game)

By the end of 2018 we hadn't received a significant content update since the ranked changes in March 2017, discounting Dropshot which was casual at the time and dead on arrival

Oh also the original tournaments mode which was literally just private matches with no rewards and nothing like what it is now
