Wavedashes are a fundamental mechanic, times you would use such mechanics would be when jumping off the wall, on the wall (Walldash, Zapdash, etc), there are many video tutorials that teach of the wavedash. Not really something you should be using all the time nor when you're in the middle of the field with zero boost. 🤸‍♂️

It comes with game sense in terms of when's the right time to use it, play the game and watch better players play.

When recovering, for the fastest recovery simply tapping it already cancels out the (Stall motion), I will call it, when holding it you slow the car down and now you're initiating a turn, though even when turning you shouldn't really hold it, It's taps as well. When you're in the field you need to always be moving and not stuck in one spot, tapping the powerslide when landing and depends on said scenario, it is used pretty much in every recovery and situation.

Coaching for anything below gc is not actually useless, It's just a biased claim. Though It is true It's not as efficient at all, if not the right coaching it can lead to no change in the person's gameplay. But, it definitely does help some people, but It's very inconsistent and you can't teach players as much in the lower ranks especially if you don't know how to actually coach.
