Short answer as to y. Causes inconsistent delay making most comp mechs much harder. Only about 2-3 pros use a changed deadzone for this reason.

i got a regular ps5 controller but when i checked the steam deadzone settings of rl it said "no deadzone" at the deadzone settings and once i checked the custom settings the first one to pop was the circle deadzone(out of the 3: circle cross square) and yes, it felt like the one i was playing with, so i changed to cross and tried it a little and felt good but different at the same time so i might need some time to get used or just stick with circle so idk

You can use that if you'd like, although in a comp setting consistency and speed matter a lot. PS offers a pretty consistent delay at around 9 - 11 milliseconds if i remember correctly, and when using steam deadzones that number varies a lot. In the short term, learning new mechs might be easier, but becomes almost impossible to get consistently at a high level because of it varying.

100% real!! there's actually this specific thing i was curious about when it came to micro corrects. For instance when i see good controller plays find their line for air dribbles and then begin to do micro corrections. alot of the time i see them constantly rotate their joystick in small circles towards the center vs the outer bits. this basically seems to just wiggle their nose as they look to see what further corrections they might have to do! From what i can tell where i can find good kbm players showing inputs that gets emulated by quickly hitting a combo of "asdw"
or "dsaw" or any shorter version of those combos, seemingly for the same reason. was more or less curious if anyone had insight on that?

Zap dashes are all about timing, land front wheels first jump in the exact moment the back wheels touch the ground, this causes the front to pop up by itself (this works in all directions) from there its just a simple forward wave dash. Once learned then you practice the zap dash after a speed flip to make the most of it.

Power sliding doesnt prevent or mess with a zap dash, it can give you a smoother recovery if you land the zap dash in a undesired direction
