Sure but I think mechs are still much more important, that’s a given tho, if you’re complete buns in even one area of your game it’s gonna affect the whole thing

But pace of play is just so important in rl and mechs increase pace of play

There’s only so many smart plays you can make when your opponent wavedashing to a ball that you clearly had them beat on

Also mechs add more for your opponent to think about, if I can left right wave dash and change the direction of the ball fast, I can punish opponents who ape me fe

in theory yes but with the pace of play in rocket league nobody on the field really gets to have a chance to think about that

but then the higher rank you get the better skill of the defence and they will know how to counter mechanics such as flip resets and stuff

they will know to just slow the pace down and wait for the opponent to be caught in a position where they can easily take the ball

My favorite training pack to recommend for lower ranks is the one literally called “Powershots”

It’s like 10 shots from all over the field and if you can hit all 10 of them consistently with power you’ll score so much more

I literally still use that training pack as part of my warm up to this day
