First you gotta learn to not just blame tm8s, if you think every teamate is bad, then that means your opponents are often bad as well bc everyone is the same rank. If you’re the stand out player in the lobby you’ll win more often than not. The biggest tip I can give if you truly get a bad tm8 is to be the bigger person and adapt to their play style. If they ball chase stay back more and wait for opportunities

I recommend a different approach: Play some 1s games every time you launch the game (this can replace warmup). Stop when you get mad, stop when you get bored. Keep in mind this is purely for practice so your rank doesn't matter. This is a good method if you don't enjoy 1s as much, you still wanna play 2s mainly, but you want to get the benefits of practice.

Yeah, hit the ball. Getting better at general aerial precision, shot power is what you want to "focus" on (quotation because you can literally just play games to improve this naturally if you don't feel like doing a lot of training outside of that.
If you really want to get into mechanics, the things to start with is a backward halfflip and basic wave dashes (eg like after jumping off a wall). But you don't need these in gold, they are just some easy and yet quite useful things that you want to be able to do eventually.

clear, maybe if you want to emphasize the distance that you clear it far away, then you can also call it long clear or far clear. There is not a fancy name for everything.

How does the rank up system work in placement matches?

Like if you were a high rank last season will that mean you will go high if you do good? Or if you just do good in general after you were low last season

If you were bronze you would rank less from you’re placement matches

Your rank usually decays a little bit, so you start slightly lower than you ended last season (this might be different for very low ranks). Even though you are "unranked", you still have an MMR, it is just not shown. Then, the first couple of matches (the placements) you gain and lose more MMR than you do after a lot of games. This effect gradually diminishes, but it goes a couple of games beyond the placements, usually.

firstly its not slightly, a ssl from 1900 can drop to 1600 so it varies for every rank and it goes lower per rank with ssl at the top, this is why you will see gcs in low c3 or even mid c2 lobbies. The gained mmr you will recive was higher before but now it starts at i think either 16 or 15 and it continues for about 5 or 6 matches and then it will drop to 15 or 14 depending on what it starts with and it will continue with about that for like 10 or 12 matches until it drops again to 13 and then to 12 after some matches and after that it will be normal again

even if its called a soft reset for some ranks, high ranked players will still drop a lot of mmr but a hard reset would be like everybody higher than diamond would start at maybe diamond or even lower and then everyone lower would start even lower

depends on season tbh but for this season it was a soft reset so for you who is gold would drop like maybe 20 or 30 mmr while a higher ranked player can drop a lot more

and then for how much you gain per match i explained above

I call a reset of less than 20% of MMR slightly lower. Starting one rank lower, which is the case for anything but gc, I call that slightly lower. People go from d1 to d3 and vice versa in a couple of days.

I dont think the analogy is good. Sometimes you cannot afford to just wait until the ball is no longer in the air. Aerial is not only about shooting the ball with speed, its also about blocking and clearing, even in those ranks.

And that is because flicks have great recovery, which means you can defend your net faster, doesnt cost your resources such as positioning, boost and momentum.
Being able to do things on the ground is prior to other skills.
