It’s not just “being fast”, it’s what makes you fast. So better recoveries, constant momentum, consistent touches etc.

You can’t just “get faster” there’s a speed limit. But you can get better at the things to make your game more smooth, consistent and seem faster

If you're able to, ask a friend of yours around plat or low diamond, to queue a few games with you in their rank. Whenever I felt hardstuck, playing a few hundred mmr higher sometimes helped me understand what I was lacking when just words weren't working.
Mechanically wise, as a silver, I would recommend you learning how to begin carrying the ball and how it behaves on top of your car, avoiding using boost so it doesnt get too fast. Another great thing you could practice are hook shots, I'd suggest watching a youtube video on it.
For your positioning, in that rank, people simply go after the ball. If you start creating the habit of antecipating where the ball is going to go, instead of going after it, you'll have a nice advantage and will avoid creating bad habits of chasing

I personally started learning air stuff from off the wall instead of off the ground. I believe it helped for sure. so practice going and jumping off the wall and trying to straighten your car. then start trying to hit the ball up and off the wall and then follow it with your car. also turning off ball cam while on the wall helps.

best advice i can give you is practice a ton of defense, shadow defense and backboard reads

and from that point on just play more defensive and let your teammates do the work, so when your teammate has a terrible challenge you're already defending

i remember plat AND diamond as just straight ballchasing so if you learn to play passive and smart about it, you can literally win every game

doing mechs in freeplay is 10 times easier than in comp thats not ur opponents ball chasing thats them not giving u all the space you need to outplay them

and you need good setups which almost dont happen in comp

you need to be comfortable with awkward setups because thats most of the setups you get in ranked
