do u have specific issues?`in general i would say try to stay more back and try to position yourself good. In Plat lots of players will chase behind the ball, so if u stay more defensive and are in a good position u can get good powershots on goal which they cant save. Low Risk, high reward

double committing is really bad, and most people tend to consistently drive the ball onto the wall, get some practice in with controlling the ball towards mid field not wall and learn ground to air dribbling, most players around gc1 to gc2 are consistent with flip resets at this point

I have about 500 50/50 split between free play and matches

While those things help I find understanding of basic positioning and mastery of more basic mechanics (flicks, ground dribbles, first touches for control, recovery mechs, and double taps) will provide more merit than forcing a flip reset or ground to air dribble into each play, especially when the control and utilization to make a threatening play is not quite there yet since the car control often needs work outside of the training pack setups

Continuing to hammer in the baseline mechanics, car control, and gamesense also will make the learning and usage of mechanics way more effective down the line

While the outplays don’t mentions are definitely effective, I find working all of your basics to high level while continuing to expand your mechanics will highly elevate your ability provided you understand the gamesense aspects where you master when to challenge for teammate, when to give up on a play, when to play backboard, where to be in anticipation of the play, when to cover high/low, etc
