but in all seriousness now. You don't NEED to do fancy mechanics, that being said, they'll help you out since you'll be able to do way more things. You can get to gc just by being able to aerial somewhat fast, reading the backboard (both yours and opponents) and not wasting boost

but knowing mechs will definetely help you get there aswell

@winter topaz, Looking at some stats from a game u played on the 2nd of june:
You don't use powerslide enough (this allows u to turn faster and preserve speed), and the powerslides u too are too long.
You spent almost a whole minute with 0 boost which is a lot of time. Also only 30 seconds with full boost, this could mean that you waste boost as soon as you get it, possibly because u're going out of position just to get it.
You also used up to 300 boost whilst you're supersonic.
As for your positioning, you spend a lot of the time as 1st man, this possibly indicates ballchasing.

This is info from a single game so it might not be accurate BUT, you should keep these points in mind regardless

Okay well for camera setting just look up pros camera settings. There’s charts you can find online and 95% of pros run basically identical camera settings and almost everyone in gc just copies them. Maybe a couple people vary them by ever so slightly but not enough to where the average players could really tell any difference

And for controller settings that’s a little more personal I feel like I personally don’t run the most common ones but controller setting vary a lot even with pros. In general just look up some basic tutorials on what to have and just pay attention to what controls you need to be using at the same time or don’t use at the same time (like air roll and drift almost everyone has on the same button) and just figure out a layout that makes sense in your mind and practice with it for a bit and see if it sticks

Yeah but if you’re practicing that, you’re not practicing what you should be in diamond. Which is basically just hitting the ball very hard and being as accurate as you can be, if you can do that you can at least get half way through champ

A double flip reset or simple double tap is nothing compared to a power shot placed top right or bar down no matter what level you’re at

If you’re hitting powerful accurate shots on net, controlling the ball, trying to go for smart plays, and throwing in fakes all of which you just said… you simply wouldn’t be diamond. I’d recommend just going back and watching your losses before you get off the game every night and go through what you could do better

im trynna learn cross map air dribbles, can do the setup nicecly, but when adjusting for the ball I dont erally go well, like its just pretty hard, and i end up going down, yknow, i feel it could be first bc m kbm, and second because i only use QSD (qfor directional airroll) but is there a way to do it correctly without having to learn the w too? i do the setup crrectly including the flip reset cancel tho

does anybody have any tips for ball control in air? I'm gc1 with perfect ball control on ground but in the air it is terrible. I can air dribble perfectly fine and stuff but when i go do like the hoops ring map i can barely get passed level 5. just practice ig?
