The game has been out for 10 years, there's loads of info on how to play and be mechanical. Like your skill level is what it is, there's training packs for every skill level and if you are on pc there are some awesome custom maps.

Tips in general for gold. Training packs not freeplay. Freeplay isn't bad but it gives a lot of ppl bad game habits. Don't double commit. Your tm8s will make a lot of mistakes but it does no good having both of you right there and leaving the rest of the field open. Work on car recovery, always landing on your wheels and using power slide when you need it so you can be fast, being faster than the other players is a huge advantage. Start working on your accuracy, being able to hit open nets is easy rank up at gold.

I suggest doing the training packs from bronze to plat maybe diamond too,or the other skill level rookie and pro.(all star prob a bit too hard for a gold) Work on those, if you do go to freeplay work on speed, car recovery, and being able to hit and control the direction of the ball. I see so many golds just dive at the ball and hoping it goes the right way. You should also be learning basic plays by now like the corner pass and setting up the shot for tm8s, and not just banging it off your own backboard hoping to get a strong clear. Also don't clear the ball in front of your own net. Lots of low rank players chase the ball back and end up lining it up for the other team
