And in addition to the above remember that your momentum matters, if you're going full speed and you try to do something in the air, you're going to keep traveling in that direction and it will be harder to get high... if you want to get to a ball that's high, or you want to hit a ball that's going to be high, slow down first and then go for your aerial

Go to free play and get the hang of flying. Try flying from side wall to side wall without touching the ground, then aim for specific spots on the wall and try to land on them.

Once you get the hang of it, use the pass/defend shot buttons to launch the ball at you.

Think about where you need to end up to hit the ball before you go up. If you're just starting, just focus on hitting the ball.
Once you get the hang of hitting the ball in the air, then you can move to hitting it in the right direction. From there you can learn other mechanics.

It it just me, or does it feel like you’re hard carrying in a rank. My peak this season was D1 div 3, now with me pushing it, I’m getting plat 3 (I was playing with my equivalently ranked friend to get to d1, he’s got game sense, I’ve got the mechs) and once u start solo queuing I get absolute bots, bot kickoff, stay goal while game, 30s left and they own goal with a grand total of 120 score compared to me with around 600-700. I’m not a ball hog, they just stay in goal and can’t even save anything it’s so annoying. And that forces me to play solos and then that makes me a ball hog, meaning my teammates will have to stay in goal (see where this is hypothetically going) and I’ve got over 1,700 hours. Peak D1, average rank p2 solo queuing, p3/d1 with a friend. Is that normal?

Well you’re doing something wrong then don’t just blame your teammates for it they’re that low of a rank for a reason if you want to be higher you’ll have to carry yourself out of it.
You can’t approach a diamond 3 or low champ lobby the same as you should in GC

I mostly struggle when i have to turn or something. And when I air roll my car steers a directional by it self
