you don’t NEED to air roll the whole time, most people at high ranks only do a small amount to adjust for better touches and more control. Yes it’s more flashy but not required. Honestly just get better at controlling mid air without and then slowly implement air roll

Also when you do implement it, tornado spinning makes you move slower mid air then just holding boost and going in a straight line, so don’t be messing with your joystick trying to make adjustments if you don’t need, it literally will slow you down

You won’t need to if you just started, most low ranks just bang to side posts or backboard, just try and practice that basic defense in and around the field of the net. Try and stay back post as well when defending (always the post farthest from the play/ball). in 2s that is. In one’s shadow defending is better since everyone is gonna try and place it farthest away from you

Little tip for Ariel’s: holding down RT or R2 can slightly make you fly faster in the air while boosting but it’s not recommended for lower ranks since it’s harder to control the ball that way so get into the habit of letting go of drive every time you are in the air with the ball

To top this, don’t do it all the time, it can make you fly past the ball because holding drive WILL make you move more. Very situational but good advice nonetheless

The difference between champ and gc, is a gc will shoot an open net, a champ will take it up the wall instead of shooting the open net
