3. for gold, work on basic recoveries, hitting the ball consistently and hard, changing your settings to actual good ones, and learning the basics of backpost rotations
4. for plat, shift all of your focus into mastering backpost rotations, recoveries, and fast aerials (important)
5. for diamond master backpost rotations, learn how to play the 2nd man role in 2v2 because your teammates will be horrendous, and continue to improve on fast aerials, and learning basic air dribbles

i wouldnt rlly recommend focusing too much at something at the beginn, if one is around bronze-gold i would rather just play the game then focusing on things, u need to get a feeling for the game (for the car and for the ball for example) before u start focusing on stuff. If one reaches like plat level i would reommend starting with things like training powershots, not to chase behind the ball, basic flying (rlly basic) for defense, correcting the car with air roll when landing, stuff like this...

Make sure your camera settings, controls, are all set good and just practice.

Not just flying right at the ball and hitting it.

I mean being able to fly backwards, being able to constantly be air rolling to make micro adjustments, using directional and non directional air rolls to keep speed and balance.

All of this must be perfect to get use out of practicing flip resets.

You should be using air roll left and also regular air roll, how will u position your car for a power hit on the ball if you can only air roll one way.

You need to have full control of your car.

Also, regular air roll is used for speed flips, half flips, air dribbles, flip resets, double taps. All of it sometimes needs micro adjustments certain angles.

Putting yourself at a disadvantage only being able to roll left

How do I get better at car control

You need to 1, bind left air roll and regular air roll. I use square for my air roll right and i use L1 for my regular airroll and powerslide.

Next you need to go into either workshop maps or regular maps and practice flying around backwards, forward, while boosting whole time, while feather boosting, try it while holding air roll whole time and without air roll

All of this will sharpen your car control so you can make the car do exactly what u want and what youre thinking about.

U are coming in at the ball backwards or sideways or forward, and have to rotate and pivot ur car to land ur wheels on the ball, then rotate out of it to continue the play.

It takes a lot of car control, boost management, and practice to get down one of the hardest mechanics in the game
