then you gotta learn the turning radius of your car.
this is one of the most fundamental skills in the game.
use normal turning at high speeds,
use normal turning at low speeds,
use powerslide tap while turning at high and low speeds,
then do it around the ball with "ball cam turned on" "all the time"

You’re misunderstanding my point. I’m not saying to stop at basic inputs forever. Beginners need to start simple and focus on core inputs like "down-right" for left air roll, then refine from there. Advanced players like Zen move fluidly, but that only comes after mastering the basics. You can’t jump into that without a strong foundation.

Regarding boost in learning air rolls:

You’re wrong about avoiding boost entirely. Boost helps reinforce direction and control. Holding boost gives feedback on your inputs. If you avoid boost when learning, you’re not practicing real aerial control.

Regarding freeplay settings:

Slowing the game down is essential for beginners to focus on mechanics. Speeding things up before you’ve got the basics just sets you up for bad habits. Once you’ve mastered the basics, sure, you can speed up—but not before.

Regarding "overcomplicating things":

I’m not saying to ignore advanced techniques, but you can’t jump straight into them without getting the basics down first. You need to crawl before you can walk. Beginners should focus on the fundamentals before getting fancy.

I started of by learning how to control your car frontwards and backwards while flying backbkoard to backboard.
I also learned how to air dribble frontwards and backwards.
Then i just learned to air dribble with 1-2 tornado spins inbetween and aerialing testing out what different spins do. Basically over time you learn the different methods of spinning while you go. Once you are safe to go with lets say tornadospin and reverse tornadospin and flying backwards and frontwards. You can just force yourself to permanairroll relying on these safepoints methods when you mess up.

Was the hardest mechanic for me to learn and I know A LOT of mechs if you're on pc look up speedflip trainer bakkesmod and download that if you have bakkesmod already then use mustys training pack for it and grind it as much as possible it'll feel impossible but you'll get it eventually

You can start learning mechs at any rank you want but I think I'd recommend waiting till you're a bit more confident and precise with movements in general but if you decide to keep practicing speedflips it'll also help you get more precise but it'll take longer to actually feel improvment with the speedflip

If you're not facing forward after landing it probably has to do with the percision of your flip which the speedflip trainer in bakkesmod will help with

Well im not all knowing ( im like c1-2 ) but id say you gotta play more since u said u havent played in a while if u have bad car controll practice mechs if ur good car wise watch yt vids on gamesense
