Not necessary but it def helps lethamyr is an ex pro and now a good ssl player and has never used a directional air roll. I also swapped to directional air roll when i was in diamond and learned it fairly quickly.

Generally there are 3 ways of making a shot more powerful:

1. Momentum preservation: Timing ball bounces fits in this category. Hitting as close to the the surface it bounced from while still hitting in the direction you want. Think booming the ball normally

2. Abusing car rotation physics. This is hard to describe without going into the math, but basically your car takes recoil, so the more straight you hit the ball, the better. The goal being to not rotate any faster or slower than you were before you hit it. If you need a better example I can give you a clip.

3. Abusing multi-touches. The game gives the ball some extra force value based on touches. So abusing some hitbox corner can get you some power that seems completely out of nowhere. The most common example is flicks.

I would say first watch replays to see your mistakes. In like 90% of the goals you get scored on there is something you probably messed up on leading to the play. In 2s they need to beat 2 defenders and you are one of them

Like right now you think it’s your tm8 fault but it could be that you left your tm8 in a bad position without realizing it which is super common
