Try starting with the ball slightly further forward on your car, that's what controls the height of your flicks. Also try not boosting into it if you committed to the flick while it was too far back

I cannot solo queue for the life of me.i can easily play and half win diamond 2 lobbies with my friend and not get carried.
i am plat 2 div 3 and i believe my rank does not recflect where i could be but reflects what i can do.
i have much better mechs and gamesense than your average plat2.
7/10 dribbles+flicks,4/10 bounce dribbles,only recoveries missing are wall dashes and speedflips,and 7/10 airdribble and 4/10 ground to airdribbles.
I rotate backpost,stay a nice distance out of the play,never flip in opps corner,always slowing down attacks by leading them into the corner never full commit as first man in defense...

With all of this you would think i am diamond 1 div 3 (d3 friend opinion)or something but i have one large problem,i can't carry my bad tm8's,i have a problem which is i don't initiate enough solo plays,what happens is after defense is my tm8 has the ball because he is front post or because i saved and he is backing me up he dumps it or drives it into the corner and then he gives me a point blank center or that is cleared out back onto the corner by the defense then my tm8's go to pick boost
(sometimes he 50's onto me and i score because the enemies are front post)and i usually never score because of my lack of vision or lack of luck just not in a position for solo play then i give a backboard pass and my tm8 cannot score it.
I played a game where my tm8 scored the centers i gave him and won 5-0 ff without me getting a single goals and 4 saves.
i am trying to see how can i improve my positioning or control so I can dribble my way out and I score instead of my tm8's and carry which is the only way out of plat without luck.

I’ve had the same problem, to fix it when you jump of the wall rather than holding down boost feather it so ur not descending or gaining height and the ball should automatically generally be higher than u

Just tap boost rather than hold it down it helps to maintain height give it a Try

so to be completely honest your defense probably isn’t that great

so you find being aggressive is more of a suiting play style because your opponents probably panic and make mad touches

it’s not necessarily a bad thing to be aggressive in plat but make sure you do practice defense too and most importantly your recoveries

that way you’ll find counterattacks more often and catch your opponent out of position when rotating back
