Basically pressing the button alone will roll ur car opposite to free air roll where u need input to roll it, moving ur stick in directional air roll allows for more movements in the air than free air roll, try moving ur stick in the air in free play to get used to the movements

I use air roll right so when I go for a shot in the air I start wiggling my joycon around the bottom left

I know that’s just how it is but that doesn’t make it easier for me to understand how that’s a thing haha. I guess cause where I use joystick air roll that’s how I see it because in my brain if you want to go left you push the joystick left. If you want to go same go right but air roll left and right aren’t like that

Well it's not always the case, but that's also usually a boost management problem. You can still make a decent play with no boost. There are plenty of situations in 2's where you run out of boost, and yet still have to deal with the problem. Sometimes it's in a 1v1 situation, and others it can be in a 2v1.
