For that second double tap after that last touch you wanna move your nose more up and almost boost away from the goal to create space between u and the ball

I'd say do more experimenting with moving your left stick as you air roll too. Little micro adjustments can help you position yourself better to help get the ball where you want.

1. Keep more space in the air between you and the ball after your very first touch off the wall, often times you are riding up on it so close that it just keeps going up and up.
2. Go at more of a horizontal angle. The goal is horizontal to you when you're on the wall, so you need to go towards it more, which saves you the trouble of seriously redirecting it towards net (which takes more boost) in the air since its already mostly going that direction.

as well as where you teammate is in relation to you

or if you are in 1s, its purely where the defender is and whether or not you make a play to go just for goal or to try to drain their boost to give yourself an easier opportunity to score

if you started playing a week ago just play there isn't much to worry about learning yet lol. just figure out the game first. i'd recommend changing controls so they aren't the defaults, as well as the cam settings, sensitivity, and deadzones

Prob a little late and sure someone prob answered already but practice accurately booming the ball at gold 3 no one has control yet or more accurately consistent control due to this most matches turn out to be whichever side the ball is on most usually wins, if you can place the ball while booming it you can either get free goals because no can defend well enough or you can place it into spots that are harder to defend. While doing this a good spot to practice placement on is backboard as even all the way up to champ people struggle to defend against backboard shots/ passes

i cant give specialized tips since i dont know your issues but from what ive seen the differnce between d3 and c1 seems to be how willing they are to go for the ball d3s wait to long meanwhile c1s tend to ego all the time. if anything i would say if you think you can reach the ball or think you have to reach it then go dont think to hard on it, later on you will learn to understand a good challenge from a bad one but until then its better to ego than to wait

Go to free play and hit the ball hard against the back board and side walls and let it bounce back at you and keep hitting it back and forth against the wall

But make sure there hard hits

For gold that's all u need to know. If u can hit thr ball consistently hard u should be good

depending on whats more important to you theres and easy way out of diamond and a tougher way. if you simply want to get into champ play hard 3rd and boom the ball whenever it gets on your side however if you want to improve which then leads to getting out of champ work on power behind the ball with accuracy and also work on challenges, you dont need perfect challenges at that rank but good enough where it messes up your opponent

if you looking really long term and want to get as good as you can work on power and accuracy at the moment as those become your basic mechs later on and your bread and butter once you have those well established work on catching the ball as its landing controlling it and flicks, since you said you practiced free styling im going to assume you at least have better control on the ball than your peers so if thats the case i would say learning when to use it is more crucial than learning how

Air dribble gauntlet, air dribble hoops, dribble course 2 if your a beginner at dribbling, lethamyrs dribble course the manscaped one if your more advanced, cocos aim trainer is good for training accurate booms, the rest of the mech training I would say find good Freeplay maps for instance ground shots and if your more advanced and need to practice accuracy on bakkes mod there is a slot for custom training turn on goal blocker then edit it wherever you draw the square will be the only spot you can shoot

As for practices without mods to practice catches use the built in aerial mode on the hardest difficulty use it to practice catching the ball dribbling and then flicking. To practice dribbles and flicking go to free play place the ball onto your car dribble it to a decent spot then flick make sure you shoot where you aim but I would say aim for back board that way when it rebounds you can attempt to catch the ball and do the same on the opposite side of field

If you struggling on defense with boost spend a couple minutes in free with boost set on normal then boost around your goal using the closest minis it should look closer to a square try to also incorporate power slides into this at first do it with ball cam off once your comfortable switch to ball cam on, this will help you to understand and use the pads near the net when either on defense and low or when returning to net from an attack on the wall to keep you with enough boost to save the ball
