in you case I would say understand that what works in a higher rank doesn't always translate in a lower one. I say this since you have a higher game sense than those you'll see in diamond 1. I would say there are 2 ways to rank up outta d1 A is to ego everything since D1s usually have no control at all or B would be play patient play solid defense and when the time comes and you see and opening attack.

How do I improve my ground to air accuracy? Every time I fast aerial I'm just off target in my initial jump almost every time and have to correct with air roll. I have 1400ish hours, why is this so hard for me?

There is no real tutorials on consistency either. It almost always focus's on shooting or clearing consistency. But just practicing one aspect of my entire skillset doesn't improve my consistency at all

Bro idk what to tell you just jump tilt up and boost before you take off calculate the velocity of the ball and the trajectory of you and the ball and take off to make a elastic collision where you and the ball trade momentum (assuming that your car and the ball are roughly the same weight). in general: Play more 1s to improve individually, play less risky (not overcomitting in corners), look more around you (to make your decision making better), rotate more around the smaller pads to stay more in rotation and not leaving your mate alone too much, look at yourself and dont blame your mate

learn to use directional as its less clunky than regular, and using both is pointless because the number of hours you have to put in to perfect it isnt worth the little reward u get for doing it because it only marginally improves ur gameplay. then also have regular air roll bound for little movements that cant be done by directional (ie when u need to air roll the other way or whatnot)

learn to brake before you jump (not when u need the momentum, but when you need to get a controlled touch), be comfortable with the way your car moves in the air, (do rings maps with miminal air roll), do alot of training packs (the aerial pack by psyonix is a good start for aerial control), be sure ur not overcommitting if u do miss an aerial (the momentum carries you like halfway across the field before you can recover)

air roll reduces the recoil (the amount you get bumped back/to the side when you hit the ball in the air), and overall helps you maintain better control as you can directly control what part of your car hits what part of the ball, and you can also control your speed in the air through simple tornado spin. its also easier to flip reset altho if u have trouble with aerial u dont need to worry abt that

Ah, at that point you need to find rooms of improvement. Watch your replays back and find a playstyle that works. Work on increasing your speed like recoveries, boost management, rotations, etc
