The classic
Two teammate blamers blame each other
1v1 doesn't prove anything
Agreed
Guys I need help I cant get out of c2 keep dropping then getting bk in c2 any tips or anything?
Na
I play in gc-c3 lobbies fine just hardstuck
Cya
No but I can c3 to gc lobbies
Forgot add play
Idk what I can do to add to my games
Following up on that, after the flip, drag ur stick to either 5 or 7
Depending on what side ur flipping
hello
does anyone have tips to master airroll left? i can airroll right decent:)
diamond 1-2. i have been diamond 3 div 3 i think
i know im switching
not gonna use both
im switching to more optimal binds so i can do more stuff yk
yeah ik
but its more optimal binds now
look i had airroll left only for speed flip
yeah
but i couldnt switch
with the speed flips to hard
how did i do that?
but i can do more stuff now
better binds xD
why lol
Right and left air roll are equal lol
Use one direction and regular.
To do a speed flip you just hold regular air roll the entire flip, u don't go directional. You flip on an angle and instantly cancel it, using regular airroll as a recovery.
uh
i used left for speed flip only, isnt that a waste?
so you saying i should go back?
You should learn whichever airroll you're more comfortable with and if you feel like you didn't make much progress with air roll right then you should be fine to use whichever you want just try them out and stick to one
U don't use directional air roll in a speed flip. If u do, ur not speed flipping lol
No, the direction air roll will fuck up the flip.
You're supposed to use it all the way
whats the best bind on ur controller for boosting,
Not if you do it right
I love having x for xbox or square for ps
You have to use regular air roll in order to speed flip, I guess if you use directional, u can speed flip one direction, but that's just a useless obstacle.
it lets you fat finger jump and boost efficiently
I agree, but why do such a thing? Then ur speed won't even be useful if u need to gain it in the other direction
I just use 2, all 3 would be most powerful but I couldn't get used to both, I use my 3rd air roll for quick half flips.
You can be the same speed on both sides
Just binded to my l3
When u flip a certain diagonal based on where you're trying to go, a right vs left speed flip will matter. Trust
Kick offs as well, it's nice to know both directions to counter your opponent
If you're using a speed flip kick off
Ah alr for kickoffs at least I think you can keep up with anything with one direction tho
You can, but you won't get to a certain point of the ball as quick, like if I want to go-to the left side of the ball, a left start on the speed flip will get me there quicker.
Won't need to micro adjust during landing
gotta be A
Easily A
Thats fair
Hello i have a question i heard that you were supposed to make your power slide and air roll the same button so i did but i dis directional air roll and power slide and have gotten used to that is this wrong
My buddy did the same, he had to switch and readjust.
yo can i ask something guys
Is champ 1 in 300 hrs good?
been playing since like july 2023
Just curious,
If u don't have a regular air roll, u won't be able to do small adjusts to take shots at certain angles. It definitely adds a challenge only have one direction available at all times.
Yeah but it's kinda within range I think it's better than a decent amount of people but most get it 400-600 hours I'm pretty sure
L1 to both airroll and power slide, r1 to boost, square to left or right roll
Hm alr
im thinkin abt adjusting boost from r1 to Circle
Claw play? Or fat fingers lol
Not true
Maybe 6 years ago
Nowadays they all use triggers for the most part man lol, look up the controls.
I do but my power slide is bound to my direcional air roll and when i try to switch it to my regular one i cant get used to it
That's might be weird for recovering, it might be possible to have the regular air roll on a different button I guess.
A speed flip is a diagonal flip, instantly cancelled, and regular air roll to recover.
Use training maps to see if ur doing it right
Thats sick
dm me if u need help ranking up
Learn half flips and cancels before speed flipping.
Or else ur gonna struggle a fat minute.
Gotta be used to snapping that stick back
Then yea just practice it.
dm me if you need help getting better
little something like that you could say
u trolling me
lmao what does that even mean? see what?
that you are silver?
1k hrs silver would be mad impressive
true š , forgot about that
i could not care less what your rank is, go queue some games
only if you say "pwetty pweaaase aqua u so cute pwease join"
š
just q normally, youll derank dw
what rank is ur friend
mod in the chat, can u teech me to air dibble
Can someone gove me tips on air dribbles?
soft first touch, hit ball in lower third
god damn
Wtf, i didn't undertsand the last part, but i just did air dribble perfectly š
Bro, ur a god
your brain may not have understood, but your fingers did š
No, but actually, the soft touch just made me score all air dribbles i do
Thanks so much
š¤šæš¤šæ
np, thats the easiest way to keep control
And do you havr any tips for ceiling shots?
get the ball as close as you can to the ceiling without it touching
jump from wall to ceiling
How do you find a good tm8 for 2s ?? I have some friends but we just dont rank up any tips ? And not just get better cus i know
They play with friends
You mean the opponents
Wdym
Never mind
Best tip: switch to freestyle
Solo queue and party up with who you do well in
chat my game is bugged, my camera keeps looking to the right and i cant move it how do i fix?
Yh but my solo q tm8s are just afk most of the time and the good tm8s just leave after the game
Its most likely stick drift
honestly ceiling shots can be done in so many different ways its kinda hard to teach without making it confusing
nah my controller is fine i jus checked, it jus happens on rl
but the idea it to keep it close while on the ceiling, then get under it
Always when im trying ceiling shots im very far away from the balk
ill try that
Take a screen of the settings
try jumping as you hit the ball, might help you stick to it
Anyone got any tips for getting out of plat in 2s
Im already jumping
atp its just practice to be able to get the right power
boom the ball
or to start, you could always hit it off the wall, and continue driving up onto the ceiling
Yeah ,someone told me that before
I've mainly been doing that but sometimes it doesn't always work to do that, it'll just give away my possession
try shoot when u hit the ball hard
donāt hit it into any open space
If you mean by booming the ball to your teammates, that would make more sense
early flicks will probably get you to diamond instantly
Makes sense
plats love to challange everything, so its a free goal
i mean I can give you a good overview: the main priorities would be learning to hit the ball hard using flicks, chip shots, and wall hits
ya for sure
also try learn some recovery mechs
they wonāt instantly make u rank up but will help you
I've also been practicing my defense because that's the main thing that slows down my rankings
can you powershot
Yes
Do it more
use that it really helps
Usually I don't get enough space for it tho
plats most likely just learnt fast aerials so they prob canāt save power shots
you just need to hit the ball twice and you can do it
once to a direction and boom in the opposite direction
in c1 u gotta create space
I know
using dribbles and double jump pops
What about cuts, are those helpful?
But in plat you dont need space cus they miss the ball
if ur good at them yes
true but remember heās plat too
theyāre not that much better just diff play style
Ballshase?
Some of us do that
btw at c1 if u can airdribble from anywhere itās free
Im going off if needed help text faixz he knows it better then me
how do you get so little power on pre flips into air dribbles? when I do it the ball goes flying
@cyan prawn yh but there are a lot of gc in champ
flip earlier
why am i suck in plat
the flip should almost be complete when you get your first touch
theyāre past gcs and washed, they try play like theyāre gcs again but they canāt keep up with their own speed
Even in c1 they smurfing or stuck / deranking
trust me bro let them go flying into ur corner they canāt control their car
okay i see what u mean, i just need more practice to memorize the flip pattern i think
been drilling it for so long sadge
Yh some of them do i have some not mutch but some of them just still are gc just in c1 you can see that they are better and have control
bro i coach c1s and Iāve seen a lot of replays, thereās always a reason why they are c1
Yh
spot weaknesses and adapt
They still are better then me and im just dumb in game lol
try force the ball for ur tm8
if u play smart u get out of c1, otherwise u get stuck there. I hit gc and got stuck there b4 just cz i wanted to chase. its all abt being smart t oget out of c1
Im just stuck cus of my of my playstyle trust me i play to much defense and over comite in corners
do u do backpost rotation
I do it
I just dont wait and challenge cus everyone i know like coaches say i need to challenge more so i do but then i over comit
@cyan prawn
if ur 1st man overcommitting is ok if u can force
if ur 2nd Man u need to see if they are awkward
then challenge
Ok
I'm gold 1 but I can't get out
like i said with the plat boom the ball
power clears will easily get u out
Ty
Does anyone have any tips for getting out of diamond 2
power slide cuts help
they chase so much
oh
do you think I could make it to c1 whilst solo queuing or nah?
i mean i did so if
Yes lmao
ig
@cyan prawn i know i can handel c2 my friends are c3 and some games i can handel very good but some other games i cant follow so im just not ready for it but i just still think i can handel c2
Derank to diamond 1
Ofc they help a lot
Iāve been dia 2 for ages Iām not that bad to derank
Alr
c2 is a different story, full of hard chasers
You'll get to champ eventually and solo q is fine
at that level u need to out speed them
@timid hound any tips on how u practiced the preflips? I feel like im learning dar all over again. despair vibes
yh I js need to grind
Absolutely
what type of pre flip air dribble r u tryna learn
Is it good to speed flip in gold
depends
wanna be consistent off the wall able to flip into the ball, keep it close and follow it
that shit is so op
flip into it early so it hits the body of ur car rather than the nose
or u can boom it with ur nose to the ceiling and maybe get a reset
Do you guys have any tips for solo queue teammates that throw almost every match
ye i just end up missing since im not good enough at the preflips, juist more practice needed. or i end up just doing a double tap setup on acident
i've heard of this but can u explain it a lil more
check dms
none really come to mind, as i got better i just starting doing it, it wasnt really a mech i practiced
but getting better with flip cancels will prob help
u gotta trust them bro but let them do what they gotta do then take the ball when they canāt
How do you learn how to do boost management
fair, I hit them sometimes randomly if im peaking, just tryina force consisrtency
What if they're constantly giving the ball to the opponents, then what do I do
What's your rank
Donāt trust them
Plat 2
U throw as well tho
ur opponents likely wonāt make a good play, clear to the corner and take control to shoot
everyone throws until gc2/3
Until ssl gc2s and gc3s don't play perfect either same for ssl tbh
How to learn boost management
No one can play perfectly tho, you can't blame them, you most likely don't either
I know I don't whenever I lose I blame myself most of the time
How to learn boost management
People never stop throwing bro
Including you and me
Play in training with limited boost
not saying they do they just donāt throw as much
Ty
Np
True
What are good kickoffs to practice in plat
speedflip / diagonal flip
Diagonal flip
Don't worry about speedflippinh
speedflipping can be good but takes time
That kinda sucks for me cause I already practice speedflips
try to diagonal flip for now
I didn't learn that until gc1
Bro just learn how to speed flip and save yourself
thatās late bro
U can get gc without speedflips
i learnt it in like p1 but that was a mistake
I know
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,
[P3] -
[1700]
What is the point of not learning it tho
The game is only getting harder
What's the point of learning it if you don't need to
Especially at plat
I'm just off at plat 1
people Smurf in gold and get destroyed on kickoffs cos the golds have a delay cos they dont speedflip
Because most people will already be using it when u rank up
And if you learn it at plat you could be ahead
Most people don't use it until champ
what rank r u
They are messing up their kickoff then
Just because people like Flakes show they can accomplish things with no mechanics doesn't really proof anything the title of Flakes videos should be [Former Pro Player with 10000+ hours using no mechanics, you aren't someone that already just has 10000+ hours and that understanding. You don't need speedflips at all, but if you're looking to grow as fast as possible..
And you're not at a big disadvantage if you don't use it
Nope see it in diamond too
Most people
Ik
Iāll never understand the point of not learning a mechanic when you just can
even pros dont play perfect, the main difference between the higher ranks besides consistency, is speed and recovering
so if Iām a gold, i should be learning psychos?
So should golds silvers learn flip resets?
makes no sense
Who said anything about psychos š
itās still a mechanic
You said you should learn every mechanic when u can
You said learning mechs, he gave you a mech
Speed Flips can be learnt actually in less than 20 minutes.
imo mechanics is a very broad term, we need to define them as "freestyle mechs" or "comp mechs"
Perfecting it is the thing.
How
No, u should focus on regular dribbles and air dribbles if you want. But game sense and solid touches are key at those ranks
And also there's different types of #Mechanics
Clearly Iām talking about mechs that youāll use in comp š¤Ø
I'm talking to the other guy he's not making sense
so double resets in bronze 2 got ya
You are not going for psychos often unless youāre just a clip hitter
And this is the simple explantion -
Mechanics are a very important aspect of the game, but please donāt misunderstand this, I donāt want you to go to practice flip resets after reading this. Everyone misunderstands Mechanics and it is mostly because of the fact that there is no actual Youtube Video that gives the major key points of mechanics, the only place where youād hear this is from a Coach, which is why weāre going to go in depth about this here
There are different levels of mechanics. You can practice unneeded mechanics like flip-resets and pancakes but it will never be useful within real-games. It will probably benefit your knowledge of them in the future but will not help you improve at the game instantly, no, it is long-term.
Every Pro says it themselves, truth about high level Rocket League (1600+) is that they have control of the ball, car and speed of the play that nobody else has ||
You need mechanics, they are 100% required, but not the type of mechanics that you think of when you hear the word Mechanics..
Recoveries
Consistency
Ball Control
Car Control
Air Control
Reads
All of these fundamentals are literally what a Standard High Level Player (GC2+) have that others just donāt have at a high level of understanding or performance of them.
People who are really good use really advanced mechs, you can't blame them
You will eventually need it so just practice the shots every now and then
Why are you limiting mechanics to a certain rank
yh but thereās main focus to every rank
You donāt need to be gc to now try and practice flip resets
Horrible coach is u just said flip resets aren't useful in real games.
They are not, for anything lower than 1600.
So bronzes should be learning flip reset mustys?
I've scored plenty shots as a GC using flip resets as an offensive attack
if u need to learn how to hit the ball and u practice resets it wonāt help you as much and you will pour so many hours into it
Bronzes can learn it if they want to
If you can't do it consistently, then no not useful.
Thereās literally no point in trying to limit anyone cuz of their rank
If they want to rank up they shouldn't
Well that goes for anything.
yh but they wonāt rank up fast
That doesn't mean they aren't.
They wonāt rank up fast by trying to improve their mechanics??
Champs are improving as well, I see plenty c3's doing consistent flip resets.
eel giving me c1 vibes
Where is the correlation
Problem is people overuse it, normally anyone below 1600 isn't consistent at many things in the first place..
The game is improving and going a mechanical route. Look at the top players, zen and dark.
No because you should focus on the basics lmao
Improvement > ranks
Depends what people aim for really, getting 1500 is a very easy task even without mechanics, it's just playing
eel what rank r u
@cyan sage bluds not his rank just 8-4d him in 1s while trolling
Every rank is only improving at their mechanics stop trying to limit people
Once u hit champ, u should be improving ur mechanics or you won't climb into GC and SSL, diamonds and below obviously just need to get more consistent , fast, and powerful touches
He's gc1
He's not trying to
They are literally saying you shouldnāt practice mechanical shots if ur low ranked
Because you won't need them at such low ranks
Can't wait to see bronzes hitting penta resets
According to your logic
Holy bro
ok so lemme give u an example: two silvers play the game, one silver spends 2 hours hitting the ball, gets to champ, while the other spends 6k hrs learning quad resets and is still in silver cos he can never hit them
You guys keep on putting mechanics and ranks together
Recoveries
Consistency
Ball Control
Car Control
Air Control
Reads
If you practice all this then you're already practicing speed along with it
Flicks, air dribbles, speed flips, all of these can be acquired by a high diamond low champ, and is a great play style.
As you play the game your gamesense will increase bud
videos exist
What you do in freeplay doesnāt equal what you learn from playing ranked
Yes, but flip resets aren't needed.
Most people are trying to rank up as quick as possible so anyone at a low rank should just focus the basics if they want to do so
U think zen or these mechanical players grew into a offensive machine by limiting themselves.
Flip resets are a great move if u have air dribbles down.
I wish I learned to stop chasing ranks earlier cuz I only got hardstuck
Plenty of champs and diamonds can practice them. Once they grow into a higher rank they will have it perfected.
hey guys! used to be gc1 div 3 a year ago but am now diamond 3. Has the game changed drastically (like mechanics and stuff) and anything i need to know?
Now Iām learning I need to chase improvement
They were aiming for pro, I am talking for a standpoint of if someone aiming for something as low as 1600, if you want to go as far as going into pro level or high SSL aka [2000+] then yes.
Ur acting like it's a rule of thumb when it's not. It all depends on the play style you are going for.
But you don't just learn all this in one day, and practicing in diamond is good, because it practices your consistency.
When ur running a 2s or 3s match u can afford risks in many situations as u have insurance with your teammate. It's worth going for these shots in many circumstances. That's how u grow.
Just learn how to do these shots because it will benefit you as a player as you rank up
It depends on the shot and the rank
We have all missed double touches and resets, but sooner or later we got better by using it against defenders.
they will improve but wonāt rank up
You can play any way you want, it's just most people overestimate ranks like basic GC1 or even low Gc2 and practice unneeded things, eventually prohibiting them from achieving these rankings at a faster rate, Basic mechanics will take you very far and beat everyone in-game.
No it doesnāt bro because their are levels to mechanical shots
U need game sense as you move up, but mechanics can out do game sense in a lot of situations.
guys im trying to become a 1s player mainly as im c1 in ones after picking this game back up 2 days ago, is anyone c1 or higher in ones willing to destroy me in a 1v1 so i can learn game sense/ how the higher ranks play
So bronzes practicing psychos and penta resets will rank them up fast?
They wouldn't be physically able to.
yh but if i miss a flip reset 100 times once every game - lost 100 games - lost 1k mmr
Here you go again throwing out these unrealistic shots trying to prove me wrong
They have to practice them don't limit them
Some of those shots should be learnt at certain ranks meaning low ranked players shouldn't be learning high ranked mechs
Don't limit them bro
U don't lose from one flip resets mishap, it's called recovery and defense
Iām talking basic ceiling shots, flip resets, and air dribbles
How is that a problem? You're learning? You shouldn't be losing that badly, that just means your defense is flawless!
Why not penta resets? Don't limit them
No they donāt you do not need to be a certain rank to learn a mechanic
Just cuz you donāt have mechs doesnāt mean everyone else should be the same
itās a problem because thatās why there are plat freestylers
Yeah so bronzes should learn penta resets
There's nothing wrong with that.
Plat freestylers decided they wanted to do fun stuff lol
It doesn't matter if you lose games and were once C3 and now went down to Plat lmao, if you fall that badly that just means you have things to improve..
If they want to be a freestyler they can go ahead
just giving tips so people rank up as fast as possible, ofc they can do what they want
Play 1's, 2's, 3's and don't limit your game sense and ability to read each game mode
Ur tips suck.
You do not need to be a certain rank to try and be a freestyler
bro how
They're useless tips. That can't be integrated into their game. U just told them to not practice hard stuff.
Telling silvers to learn flip resets if they want to rank up is dumb af tho
as a plat i would rather learn powershots than double resets if i wanted to rank up so badly
Id rather learn flicks and dribbles. Plats are good for that.
When did I say they need to learn them to rank up
Iām advising them to try to have main priorities not completely avoid these shots
I said learning these type of shots will only benefit them as a player because they have more offensive options
yh cos it takes so much more time, i would wanna spend 3k less hours for something more effective and less risky
U tell them the truth and assess their abilities and go from there. U don't just shut down an entire idea as advice.
The mechanical sense of the game is improving crazy
If you practice the mechanics they become effective though š¤Ø
If they know air dribbles, there's no reason to not practice flip resets. Even as a diamond or champ.
Because that's how u become GC
Mechanics are huge in GC
You just limit yourself by not learning how to do these things
but it takes so much more time
anyways my phone is on 1%
U need game sense and mechanics at those levels. Time is the price for these ranks.
U must put in time to learn this shit.
Literally if you are ranking up to like mid champ you probably already put time to learn game sense
trust me, i tried at a lower rank, i wasted so much time because I wasnāt familiar with the basics and when I had the mechs needed, it was so much easier
U have to have the basics ofc.
Hello im just wondering why my teammates play like shit while i meet gc titles in c2
But that doesn't mean everyone at those ranks don't have the basics because you didn't
Times have changed bud.
Iām just advising them to learn basics first because itās so much easier then
Idk maybe smurfs mixing stuff up, or could be your fault but u don't notice. Idk
Because that's your rank?
U advised them to not learn them at all not basics first.
Do not blame your teammates directly.
they play faster than they can handle, try let them overcommit
I think youāre getting the wrong end of the stick
You can learn the basics and more advanced mechanics at the same time
yh but if u learn basics first u save more time
Bro what
I learned flip resets when I learned how to air dribbles while air rolling. I was about champ 1. I began using them consistently in champ 3
I now have great aeriel offensive power, and air recoveries
I said at the same time dawg
Diamond I focused on dribbles, flicks, and redirects
The basics are basic for a reason they donāt take too long to learn
All while improving my game sense and chemistry
I was already air dribbling in plat 3
most low ranked players just get confused
Yea plats are dribbling now. It's changed.
They're not idiots, most of them just need more mechanics and consistency. They understand to not practice something they will never have a chance of hitting
No one's gonna practice a flip reset if they can't air dribbles. Like that's just common sense
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,
[P3] -
[1700]
Well.. That's controversial š
Not really, I guess if ur doing that it would be a waste of time. But that's not just for low ranks, if u got the basics down and ur a plat, keep going mf. Ur growing quick
People slow themselves down by worrying about their rank too much.. You can't improve if you don't learn.. Doesn't matter if you lose 100 MMR in the day.. [Take a break if you do lose 100 MMR in a day and play Cas.. Go back into it hours later after a Real Life break or just in general the next day]
I agree, u gotta go for things in game and risk losing possession if u want to improve your offensive play, u will learn what not to do, and what to do.
No, the basic mechanics take longer to learn than any mechanic in the game..
Not learning the basics (mastering the basics)
Well dribbling definitely comes faster than a breezy flick.
Mastering, yes
Lol
Every plat will learn the basics of dribbling bro
As said it all comes to consistency, learning it but then mastering it is what will determine the overall ability you have and being able to master the following:
Recoveries
Consistency
Ball Control
Car Control
Air Control
Reads
Practically you have the needs to already be SSL.. Mastering these.. Like truly mastering it.. You will already be on a mechanical level that will open up many things like @cyan sage has been suggesting which opens the gateway to Freestyle mechanics and then implementing them in game..
ive been playing for many years and naivly avoided learning how to tornado spin. im capable of air dribbling, flip resetting, double touching and stuff but i think if i learn how to tornado spin then it will benefit how consitent i am. Ive been trying to find a useful video but havent been able to. Anybody have any tips?
Noooo!
what
How to use directonal airroll? Practice.
Use in game.
You will mess up 2000 times, and cause 500 goals.
But at the end you learn it
Just practice it in freeplay
i can use directional ariel but never really been able to get tornado spinning down
i dont think im doing it right
Tornado spinning is not a conscious thing you do
To use directional air roll and actually get used to it takes time. It's a weird movement
just air roll to adjust to hit the ball properly
It's all muscle memory
^
yeah but i dont even know what way to move my joystick intially
U will naturally be sliding your stick left right up down left down up, but ur car moves right.
so im not the way im doing it doesnt look right
U have to understand when to boost based on your cars rotation path.
Watch Youtube Videos, sad thing is Youtube Videos can only help so much.. The rest cones to you in learning.. And getting the movement down..
In order to manipulate your path
yeah alright ill keep at it thanks for the help guys!
Are you on PC?
i am yes
Make one lol
okay give me 5
normally use oct and im using breakout
if ball goes over me dont judge
bad start to game
what's your epic name?
I can check if anyone in your games uploaded a replay
JonathanSP1302
somehow no one has ever uploaded a replay to ballchasing with you in it
what does that mean
are you a lower rank?
like c1 atm
hm
peak like c3
I just thought it was strange that you have are in no replays on ballchasing
Bros mysterious
He is too good to be included in replays.
I messaged you, don't know if you have unknown messages at pending.
i dont tend to go for the ball if my team mate there
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,
[P3] -
[1700]
what rank are you?
Lmao, as long as you're actually trying..
cant really hear my game atm
I've only been playing the game for a week.. Just came back from like a 5 month break..
But muscle memory never fails, and I got GC1 pretty easy surprisingly..
(I always take massive breaks and then come back just to fill my ego and make myself feel pro by getting like 1500 in only a week or 3 of playing š )
aha nice
my games done
Iām js Gold 1
I'm not looking for authoritative advice, I'm just curious about people's play habits. What percent of your time do y'all spend practicing in freeplay vs playing games?
Percent.. like 50% practice 50% play
80-90% freeplay and some cas unless im grinding comp
you only spend 10% of the game playing??
95% ranked 5% freeplay
30% free play
Usually learning new mechs or polishing my mechs
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,
[P3] -
[1700]
i need help speedflipping'
Js do it
Diagnol flip and then yank ur joystick down
how should I train if I am gold
Keep playing the game
What rank are you
but how should I spend time in Freeplay or custom training? for reference I have around 30 hours, in gold 2 and (i know you guys hear this a lot) but I'm always getting bad teammates.
Thatās not how you do it
Practice in casual
And practice your shots and power
Freeplay is probably best but you could find some basic training packs if you want. Playing ranked is most important for improving, usually 2v2 and some 1v1 unless you only really care about 3v3.
Half your teammates will be better than you and half will be worse, that's how it works assuming you play ranked regularly
what should I do in Freeplay?
Practice going to the ball and hitting it with power. Also hitting the ball right after it bounces. Don't reset the shot too much, and you don't need to be scoring constantly or even shooting
anyone willing to point out mistakes in my gameplay im c1 div 4
i am a 1 year washed player i used to be champs could anyone help me learn how to do a flip reset
I was doing a bakkesmod training thing for speedflip and the flip cancel doesn't feel physically possible. It needs to be cancelled within 50ms???
I am 350 hours in and Gold II, so this doesn't check out lol
Hey i recently started rocket league and i want someone to help me with speed flip as im getting difficulty doing it
Watch YouTube videos
How to improve
hey can someone help me speedflip
Best teacher is time bro when youāre at diamond then you can be coached imo
Hey all im plat 1 in 1's and 2's. I can half flip, speed flip, some air dribble, my arials are pretty decent and shot are usually on target. How can i get better at decision making, when to challenge when to push so and so forth. Im mostly a ones player. any advice is appreciated!
can somone help me speed flip
Need advice on air roll and control wilst arialing
Hardest mechanic you will ever learn so be patient
Literally no one can tell you how to do it u gotta get a feel for it
Takes a lot of people 1-3 months to get it down
is it worth it?
Give me smt to work and learn i can learn directional air roll or normal ? Ive been using normal for long time now ive been thinking to switch which one should i learn or switch
depending on your rank youāll need to learn both
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,
[P3] -
[1700]
Huh, what do you mean.
You Need normal air roll
Directional is technically optional, but it is good to use and technically you can consider needed.
But you shouldn't be using normal to be doing Tornado spins lmao
Only Directional can be used practically in the air and most efficient.
Ive been playing three years using ball cam and normal never gotten anywhere lol i hit play today when i genuinely wanted to learn i learnt fast arials in 4/6 hours after seeing video air roll directional or normal ive never been able to learn ot kind get the hang of
So i should learn directional and normal then ?
Both
U need normal air roll for recoveries
A rule id say is
90% air roll left or right
10% normal air roll
Used in a game
So most of ur time training should be directional air roll
But everyone starts out with normal air roll so experiment
I tried using left air roll today its very weird and annoying to learn after tryna learn normal for 3+ years i never knew directional was a thing lol
I was c3 last season and now just stuck in d3 for no reason at all wth?
Hm so learn directionsl then
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,

Nvm it was bcs of solo q
Tbh you should be able to solo d3s for the most part but if your teammates wonāt let you then just play as a support role and use your brain
No

Hey
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,
[P3] -
[1700]
Mnay people have bought it lmao
im p2 d4 xd
Wouldnt it be easier to just look at youtube for something like settings? Most people barely differ in settings anyway at high ranks.
Well
Fov:110
Distance:260-300
Height:90-110
Angle:(-3)-(-5)
Stiffness:0.35-0.85
Those are the common ranges for normal comp players. If u use the lower ranges on the height distance and angle try using a lower stiffness aswell. If u use the higher ranges go a bit up on the stiffness tho most people keep it even more narrow about 0.4-0.5 i think
The last to are more preferance but i use
Swivel speed 5.70
Transition speed 1.50
These are basically mainstream and decent to use. U can play around with it aswell tho.
If you want freestyle settings i have no clue though
Which gamemode?
1's
2's
3's,
Mainly 2's and 3's.
Id like free coaching
Dang it, I main 1v1.
I would even coach extra modes but like..
Platinum 3, division 2 currently.
I'll coach
I keep losing to champion players, starting to frustrate me.
U just gonna ignore my requestš„²
U should ignore what people are in other modes probably even ignore what they are or used to be in the mode you are playing
Actually, I'll coach you first..
I would, problem is they hit clips on me then leave instantly when I ask why are you hitting double flip resets on me consistently.
Can't just "Learn to defend flip resets".
I can try one, but double is just ;-;
Im sitting in champion 3 in 2v2 haven seen a single guy hit a double flip reset in like ever... Who are you playingš
I wish I knew. Every time I check RL tracker they barely have any games played.
I would accept it if they were unranked but sometimes it seems intentional.
It is either I destroy my opponent, or they destroy me. I am not really learning here.
Honestly i cant imagine them blocking you fron ranking up as if the players in plat 3 were consistently that i would be there aswe
Here is what normally happens, I get to platinum 3 divison IV, then I get somebody hitting clips. I say oh well. Next game I GET THEM AGAIN.
Just happened recently.
what rank are you
dia 2 atm
Tbf as a c3 you probably prejump the save or just donāt let them get a clean setup
can anyone help me and my friend in a tournament
we need a 3rd person and i cant say anything like this in looking for group btw
yea please we need a 3rd bc fill tm8s are bad and normally sell
Im c2 in normal game mode but wanna get gc rewards in either hoops or rumble. Which one should i pick? Im around diamond on both but i never play them
prob hoops
Could somebody teach me when to challenge and when not to challenge?
1v1 by the way.
Dude blocked me for no reason. They couldn't just say no.
what rank?
They said gold but when I said my rank they blocked me.
lmao im not playin with golds anyway thanks for warning me
No idea why they blocked me to be honest.
what was your rank
im plat 3 in 1v1 tooš
U haven't played in 4 years and already gc3 in 2s?
i am champ 1 in 2v2 tho since thats what i mostly play
So you're the reason I hate 1v1.
What's your other account
U can't just go from champ to gc3 after 4 years of not playing
i keep trying to grind 1s and i keep losing to plats but every once in awhile ill destroy someone
i keep losing to plats who just play weird and its so annoying
Nah.
** S U S**
but i have a plugin where i can see others ranks, theres so many people who are low in 1s and champ in 2s
So you went from high champ to gc3 after 370 wins after a 4 year break?
370 wins is probably like 50 hours max so you went from c3-gc3 in that amount of time?
Its cause you are inconsistent. Some games you will pop off and some games ur dog water. Its one of the things that makes lower ranks lower rank. Every rank has it tho. Like yesterday I was kinda win lose win lose and today me and my buddy climbed me all the way up to GC2 for a got second, I lost it then a couple more and now im getting off. You gotta know when to stop too. Cause sometimes ya need a break from ranked. Or youll start rage queing. Also, plat has a lot of smurfs.
I gotchu if you still need help
Something's off
I believe you ā¤ļø
U definitely didn't take a 4 year break
Some ssls get there in 4k hours or under it's not unheard of to get that good that fast
The thing is sure, getting ur level of skill back that you had at the time wont be too hard to keep. Its the fact that everyone else around you kept playing and kept getting better. So not only are you trying to get ur skill back, but ur also trying to catch up.
Nah 1v1 me rn even though I am actually frying my brain in Rocket League rn.
yo bet
You still want help with chaling the ball?
Yes.
So stop with the waffling, you're telling me you were high champ 4 years ago, took a 4 years break, came back and grinded 100-200 hours and are now gc3-ssl level?
go dms
She at least sees you and you guys go out occasionally right? Please don't neglect your relationship for this game
I'm not exactly sure
Ah gotchu you had me worried for a sec
Idk no one gets from high champ to gc3 after 4 years of not playing it kinda depends on your hours
So it took you 370 hours after a 4 year break to go from champ to gc3/ssl level?
U said you were only high champ 4 years ago
1700 in 2s
Still gc3
What's your total time played do you think
Yes
The place you own the game on tracks the hours u can check
I personally don't believe your story but I could be wrong
I believe that you are the skill of a gc3 in 2s
Bros better than you
However I don't believe that you took a 4 year break and only casually played and came back and got to gc3 in 4 months
And u lil bro
I clear you lil man
Ok buddy even tho u lost the last 1v1
Do you want a bo3 where I actually try against you
Sure another time tho
You gonna get dropped
Haha ok bud
š
I'm sure it'll be close you're deranking badly
My current ranks donāt reflect my skill
Both but we can do 2s ngl I just wanna confirm the gc 3ness and out you if your not but also bored and would like a good team8
Sure thing bud
Iām deranking cuz Iām losing my passion for ranked rn
Once I get back in high spirits Iām back up š„±
gc2 but just wanna cas for a sec I'm not good so prolly no comp
Ofc bro
Me too when I'm happy I'm ssl / pro
go dms
Why do you even check my ranks tbh
Why does it affect u
It doesnāt because tons of people do it already
It's car football it's not that deep
I just donāt know why I even have so many views on rl tracker
How many do u have
Want a 3rd? Iām a bit lower but if itās casual I should be fine
It's probably because you have so many games
Idk I think like almost 3K
So
More games means you play against more players which means more people will check your tracker
Sure can you let us run 1 2s game first tho I'll dm you
Yeah Iām just getting home
How to do the looking for group thing?
/looking for group
can anybody coach me im plat 3
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,
[P3] -
[1700]
yo could you coach me I'm p2 d 4
Yes, DM me bro š What do you play on?
kbm
anyone from eu still on
.
need me someone who wants to teach me a bit of gamesense and rotations. c2
What can I do for get out of plat Iāve been diamond 2 before now Iām back to plat 2
@dark falcon what's the worst aspect about your gameplay? or one of the basic mechanics you're worst at?
train that until it's your strongest point
Stop thinking that they're deranking you
play more passive if your playing 3s its best to force the other team same goes for 2s
dont over comit roations are key to ranking up
how to get out of bronze 2 I used to be gc 3
Idk I'm stuck bronze 1 and used to be ssl it's really hard
Glad someone else is going through this
idrk where to write this but i feel like my offence is way worse than my defence and ive been struggling to score goals, compared to my defence where i can save really hard shots. is there a way i can make my offence better without doing advanced mechanics (i forgot to mention im d3 in 2s)
Can anyone help me with half flip resets? I'm looking to improve my mechs and get better overall
i do play 1s
i made it to p3 and i save as many shots as i can but they save all my shots cos of how basic they r
Can someone watch a replay of mine and tell me what im doing wrong (like i managed to win a 2v1 in my ranked d1 div3 game yet im still stuck on it for weeks)
most of the time i just score open nets cos they over commit or dont recover fast enough and thats really it
when they're defending i rarely score
any tips in hoops?
you might have the same problem as me, not playing with your team8s.
Everyone says that focus on yourself and not your team8s. This is not 100% good.
You tend to need to watch how they play, what can they do, what not, and try to fill in the gaps that your team8s can't.
Just watch and pay attention to your team8s a little and try to adapt to them
Yes the biggest mistake I notice below like GC1 is double commits and overcommits because people don't pay attention to their teammate
tbh i found an easy method to ranking up
and its just playing overly defensive for some reason
i just play defensive and rotate and let my teammate chase ball
prevents double commits and lets monkey teammates be usefull
Helps rank up but you won't get better by doing it
you dont play ranked to improve, you play ranked to find roughly ur skill level and achieve ur goal, you use freeplay and casuel to improve, so i dont see ur point
I play ranked to improve
where can i look 4 freestylers?
Can anyone coach me? Im a gold 3 trying to be d2 i play on playstation in eu dm if u can coach
i dont know about that, i play ranked to improve
your rank is too low, you're making too many mistakes to be coached.
Play and get better, start searching for a coach in plat2
you can't improve in casual, casual is a place to goof around and just have fun and make stupid mistakes you know you won't do in ranked. Ranked is where you play serious and actually make mistakes you can improve on
not only that but casual can create bad habits
Can I be coached I'm plat 2
Just enjoy the game and youāll rank up before you know it coaching in p2 is not worth it lol
whatās your rank
silver 2
Can someone coach me Iām plat 3 I was diamond yesterday tho or has anyone got any tips
what?
where can I find freestylers
I hate the new lfg bot i hate it so much
itās horrible
Hope this is irony
hm?
In any case. The best way of improvement is 1s ranked. Casual is not recommended but you can practice mechs in matches there. Freeplay follows close to that, but more for creating habits and learning recoveries as you can play at your own pace
Does anyone do coaching? (FREE)
Its the truth
Delusional, you see casual as something good players dont, casuals is for improving and warming up even tho its loved within some communities for hitting clips and messing around
Like i said, casual is a place where you play casually. You're going to make mistakes you don't make in competitive, and you don't really try so you won't push your limits, you won't do good rotations or pay attention to it. If you say casual is for improving, i only see it as improving your mechanics
but if you actually try in casual
then, sure maybe, but your opponents probably aren't, and if you get easy games, you also won't really improve in any aspect
@glossy carbon this is the truth
womp womp
Yes, casual has it's own mmr but it's far from linear
you may be 1800 mmr and go against 2000
you can go against people 500 mmr higher than you
and the lower mmr the shittier people, people in diamond can easily get up to 1900
I'm 1500 in casual and 1800 in ranked ā ļø
and there are still people in 1800 that are platinum
Casual isn't a good way to improve anything other than mechanics in any case
yeah ofc it's good to warm up
I feel like warming up in casual is counter productive because then ranked will be faster and you won't be ready for it after playing casual
i never said that playing casual has to be goof around or bad or anything
all im saying is it's not an effective way to rank up
Agree
I'm in gc3 too and casual only hurts my ranked performance
Because I go from playing against champs to people who are normally ssl
Honestly warm up in rings, it helps
I dont recommend warming up in casual, your better off doing ranked 1s or 3s
I haven't played rings in a long time
I just go in freeplay until I feel warm and then into ranked
I'm guilty of that too
I don't play ranked until I actually feel focused though, my mechanics could be great but I don't q because my mind isn't in the game yet
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,
[P3] -
[1700]
Well it works because I usually win my first games
There's always practicing your shooting and dribbling in like dribbling courses + custom training packs to warm up
Another method that people see efficient and use is the secondary account method, where they have the account in a similar ranking to their main and they purposely risk their rank in the account just to warm up regardless if they win or lose.
I feel like I can just tell if I'm going to play well or not
I'd rather queue when my mechanics are weaker and I'm focused than if my mechanics are good and I'm unfocused
If you're a high enough rank in 3's and you're a GC3 in 2's, 3's can be very efficient to practice your reads and speed of which in if you actually get a good touch.. This strongly implements into 2v2's and then practicing 1's and increasing your dribbling ability and ability to keep control of the ball in the air when so and opening up many oppurtunities.
6man's is also there.
I wish console had rings
Workshop maps are cool for a day and then most people never use them again
Im on ps4 lmao just chillin
I'll race u
Dang dude
Have you been ssl?
I thought i was doin well at 1540
You're still way above the average player
Who can coach me im gold 1
That's good
Sure
Not to my clubm8s lmao they say gc aint gc unless it gc2 (they have high standards)
Ah, I haven't been ssl either
GC is GC
Well, the difference between GC1 and gc3 is huge but they're still both GC
You got this
160 mmr is a lot in a day
How tho
Fair
Because the difference is huge
I'd say gc1-gc3 is similar to plat 1-champ 1
Ah
It is
Sheesh
I just qued 2s and as soon as they scored my m8 insta left at like 4:56
I hope we both get SSL
Me as a c1 and a gc3 beat a gc3 and a gc2
That's one game
I play 3 4 hours at most sometimes since my mentality is horrible (i get annoyed easily)
True
Idk though I don't see a big difference between 1300-1500 so I doubt there's a huge one between 1500+1700 I'd imagine it's a small gap
I don't get why so many good players are stuck in gc3, I'm going against so many people who I know are normally 2k+ but they're in gc3
Think about how many hours they got
1500-1700 is a lot bigger than 1300-1500
U even said yourself the players weren't good
I just reached 3k a few days ago
I've got 2900 hours
Nice
O right
I started f2p
Can i 1v1 u at some point?
2k hours and Iām still hardstuck champ
Its not gonna come overnight ma boi
Sometimes it can
It took me a whole year to get outta champ
I've played vs ssl smurfs in gc1 and they weren't that good and an ssl player once told me that people aren't actually good until high ssl
I was stuck 1600 for a year and then went from 1600 to 1800 randomly in 3 days
I was on like a 10 game win streak and almost hit c3 then I went all the way back down to c1
You saying that as a C1 is just wrong, any SSL would destroy you if they want to
good is all relative. it's like a gc3 saying that gc2 is bad.
Dont tire yourself out like after a 5 win streak i would have given myself a break lol
Yea true
In 1s I get destroyed by gc players but I think I could keep up in a gc 2s game
I'm gc1
You said you were C1
I beat a gc in some tourney then I met a gc 3 and got destroyed 12-1
When I played in gc3 I was c1
True
You'd still be destroyed by an SSL if you're GC1
Me personally im d3 in 1s
Is there a big difference between gc3 and ssl?
Depends on the ssl
If anyone needs free coaching DM me,
[P3] -
[1700]
SSL is 500mmr above GC1 no matter who it is
If we're talking current 2v2 ssls then yes
I've beat many SSL's and Rlcs Commentators, etc..
You're going against washed SSL's or in general smurfed accounts.. Or they are just SSL in for example 3's but Gc2 in 2's..
3's and 2's are different modes.. You can't just call SSL's trash..
Low SSL and gc3 are similar, high SSL though is way way way better than even low SSL
High ssl is like pros no?
Yes
I'll put it this way: the mmr difference between zen and a low SSL is the same as a low SSL and a C1
Thatās crazy
Zen got SSL and then another 700 mmr
I mean if you clap me in the 1v1 I'll believe that the gap between gc3 and gc1 is large I personally don't think it is
Bros about to beat the record again
Yeah
You're being delusional then
Its considerably large
But a 1v1 will not prove it
So your one of those types
Nasty
Why not
Ive held close 1s games to gc3s-SSL
However never actually beat
2s and 1s are different modes
1s is a totally different mode
That doesnt mean its the same in 2s
Im a champ with consistently good mechs but bad game sense do I just play more normal matches and less free play to get better?
some stuff might transfer between the modes but they still require different skill sets/game sense/thought process
I'd say 2s is the mode with the biggest skill gap from gc1 to ssl
For sure
Like there are more ssls in 1s than gc3s in 1s
1s skill gap isnt that large
Anyone who's good enough to be high rank in 1s will be able to get SSL and probably won't be stuck gc3
look at shade losing to gc1 1s and then be ssl 1s the next day
