When you start playing the game, your first several games affect your MMR much more than everything afterwards. The amount your MMR changes goes down a lot with each game, then a bit slower, until you're changing by around 8-9. Usually takes somewhere around 30 games I think. A similar thing happens at the start of every season for everyone, but not as extreme

It also depends on how your MMR compares to everyone else on the field, if you queue with someone of a much different rank
