The skill gap between his rank and yours is quite big. So, it would hard to rank up with him. What i suggest doing is to either stop play with him if you care the much about rank, or play with him to gain experience not to rank up since you're playing higher ranked players.

Speed flips in diamond 2v2 is quite rare. But seeing a speed flip in diamond 1v1 is much more common because most champs/very low gcs in 2v2 are diamond in 1v1. That's in my experience though.

if you have workshop maps, the ring maps are definitely the fastest ways, most people recommend you go through different ring courses without letting go of dar at all. Once you can get through without letting go your control will be decent, the next step past that is not letting go of boost and dar, but that is more of an extra thing and is extremely difficult most maps aren't even doable that way

thats for practicing the actual car control, eventually you will have to practice with the ball though, you can't just train without the ball forever, it will have deminishing returns

I flip with Q & W & hold S instantly after. I also hold A & Shift (powerslide) to gain a better landing.
Based on some tutorials, I heard u have to let go of S momentarily & repress it to make it more smooth, so I tried implementing that as well.

It feels like I'm doing exactly as directed, but its not working. I'm ensure if its my setup thats poor or if i'm just not fast enough.

its with bakkes, it's called speedflip trainer

it looks more complicated than it is, the bar at the top is your horizontal distance, so if that goes red you are moving too far to the sides. Bar at the bottom is the angle you dodged at, since you are pc it will always be 45. flip cancel is self explanatory, the speed you canceled at, and first jump is the timing of your first jump

you can successfully do a speedflip with 1 of them in red, or maybe even 2. But the rest has to be done pretty much perfectly, so just try to fix whatever is in red, yellow is fine

sry for late reply, but generally speaking it helps to play more beats and smart touches than mechanical plays in diamond/champ because all everyone else is focusing on is playing fast. don't play fast by moving fast, but position in the most relevant spot to where the play is likely to go if you're 2nd man
