I have an idea to help smurfing and unfair matchmaking. Introduce Club Rank. When you’re partied with members of your club, your individual ranks don’t matter - only your club rank. Same ranks, except you earn it as a team. That way you don’t need this weighted MMR system that’s broken and unfairly weighted when your team has a skill spread. It also helps clubs compete against clubs. It might not solve smurfing entirely, but it would likely cut down on it since rank is team based instead of individual. Plus you feel like you’re really earning your team rank. It will probably incentivize more club play too.
