Okay, so...got a collection of Twitch clips from the same stream, as the streamer unwittingly found a zombie glitch. And then it happened again after restarting the stage.

TL;DW: dying while also activating a booster or a drill before you hit the ground completely causes you to be unable to take any damage, interact with stage elements and Life Petals, and removes the kill plane from pits.
Unfortunately, facecam covered the version number in the VOD, so I am assuming this happened in 1.1.6r. This will need further testing.

There's a couple of things that can trigger this. Dying and hitting a mirror in GO1 can also do this. Notably, while in this state, shenlin pipes will instantly kill you.
