Think of it like this let's say out of 4 end closers only 1 gets not blocked but that one end closer will still no diff the other style unless they have an absurd lead

End closers will speed up and other will survive until end closers catch their ass

And their is 400 meters for their natural speed diff to shine

again its only a 2.8 L gain (spurt), I will agree that taishin is simply the ideal with shadow, but the lead straightway spurt generates is very little overall unless you think the sim does not calculate the accel properly

2.7L can be met with other good skills like long straights/corners unless you have a billion SP somehow hitting the right stats on long which I doubt, my golshi is 1187/1150 with little SP outside of the 3 gold recoveries

if you are running nice nature then yeah you probably need some stats

but should worry too much on them
