with the exception of berg that has 3 turn icons synthesis skills I used that on everyone
I probably should have used it on berg for the teamwide magic/phys barrier
late game spoilers (do not click!

ok its time to make room for ||bas in my party||
(late game spoilers)

yo, does anyone know if ||almighty damage || scales off of str, mg or both like in smt v?
The ||Prince ||archetype|| almighty damage|| skills scale with whatever dmg stat is the highest
the rest from what I'm aware of scale depending if the description states "physical" or "magic"

HOLY SHIT
i finally beat ||sogne|| (late game spoilers)
that was a pain in the ass
used up almost all my consumables
sheeeeeeeesh that was fun tho
i just noticed this thing in the grand trad
Think they have those as well in the title screen
||the leadup to|| (VERY LATE GAME SPOILERS ⚠️ ) the || prince archetype || was peak

||LOUIS IM COMING FOR YOU||
(late game spoilers)
alright, it really came out pretty fucked up though, gotta admit
I haven't even passed 9/11
still further than lacari though
no need to rush, just enjoy
Yeah been loving it and eupha is bae
I have a feeling her JP voice isn't supposed to be that deep but I love her EN voice as it is
||Welsh dragon worshippers though||, I have to tip my hat to the localiser
||because Wales has a dragon in its flag||
makes sense
Yeah all EU voice works except MC and gallica
All UK rather
Not EU anymore technically
There might be few Irish here and there I can't be sure 100% too but yeah
It's quite good in EN if you wanna do a new game +
Maybe because it's fantasy it's not as jarring to play in English for me
I like that they varied it up a bit so you don't just hear the pompous London accent
Reserved only for Mr Louis
ofc he has that
idk it will be hard for me to see them with a new VA
the original VA worked out pretty well honestly
More than that I really do enjoy the story and the social commentary so far, it's quite nuanced for Atlus
Bet let's see I still have half the game in front of me

Plain before u finish the game I suggest unlocking as many archetypes for every character as u can cause the MAG needed to learn one is tripled in regicide difficulty
thats very good to know ty
i was farming the mimic that drops jewels until i almost maxed out mc and strohl
but quit to do the final dungeon which is where im currently at
i also wasnt able to get to rank 8 and 6 for || bas|| and cath
tho
Just gonna save you some grind for ng+ cuz I started mine yesterday and realized I'm a dumbass lol
its locked at regicide so u cant lower the difficulty for ng+ rite?
Out of time? That's unlucky, I was cutting it tight cause I had like 1 day left before I challenged the final dungeon lol
If you want to start ng+ it needs to be regicide I'm pretty sure
yeeah i kinda got my ass beat fighting the ||trial bosses|| so i had to leave a couple times
I didn't do them at first, then I loaded my save from the start of the last month and then just grinded levels for like 2-3 hours lol
I was level 60 or something and couldn't kill shit

Chinese Food 😋
In China, a wide range of animals, reptiles, and birds are consumed, influenced by cultural traditions, regional preferences, and historical practices. Common meats include pork, the most widely consumed, and beef, lamb, and rabbit, which are popular in specific regions. Dog meat, while controversial and declining, is still eaten...

ngl i think its gonna be mid and be used for the DLC or rerelease of this game
played some more, beat the island dungeon probably one of my overall favorites so far
doing eupha's side quest right after was annoying though
beat ice dragon
man what the hell did they do to this part of the game it feels like they cut content
you get a party member and you don't even get time to try them out before a big boss it feels like there should be a dungeon or something between this
yeah the academy would've been a perfect dungeon i feel
but funnily enough
the boss was really fun
and if there was a dungeon it'd probably be too easy
so silver lining I guess
but I did want a dungeon

they are busy thinking of a name to rerelease the game with extra content
Metaphor: Kingmaker
finally at the point where I can do side content for a month
I was real annoyed before about how they did the story pacing with 2-3 hours of VN story with maybe 5 mins of gameplay and then the actual time management gameplay
but it ended up being better after dragon temple I think
and they really want you to go for the heroic embodiments huh
doesn't feel like you can spec your party to follow a different path
i guess the game is easy enough that you can do wahtever you want
true, heroic embodiments is a design mistake other than the prince imo, the prince has some "story relevancy" and is somewhat versatile the other embodiments serve to completely box in the characters into a specific role if you grind enough to obtain them, id say they also induce a sense of "you are supposed to do this" so even if you decide to do something else you are (with a bit of hyperbole) guilt-tripped to work towards them
yeah, unless the final dungeon is hard so far its all pretty easy even on hard difficulty which is pretty standard for atlus. So it ultimately doesn't matter too much
i thought the very last stretch was somewhat difficult but I didn't do a single battle other than guest/mandatory battles (+ optional bosses in the final dungeon) ever since martira, if you avoid the optional bosses the final bosses might put up some fight even if you´we grinded a little
okay finally got around to doing most of the side content. the three towers and the final dungeon are left
and 1 follower event
there is some side stuff at the final boss area that weakens the boss dont forget to do those

have fun
final dungeon is an exp mine just progressing through it
okay nevermind what I thought was the final dungeon was not the final dungeon. typical jrpg
i got baited too
well I'll go do the rest some other time
fuck lvl 88 teeth
i really shouldn't have grinded in the last area to unlock things
should have just headed straight to the boss
got my MC to 100% archetype and even that was boring
gonna pull a lacari and touch this game in a month just to beat final boss
yea if u grinded for a 100% mc ur gonna be bored af by the end of it
yeah I'm burnt out a bit I don't really want to touch the game to get it over with
i'll go play something else and come back later
ye good to take a break
good ass break and then clean it up
I can tell if I finish it off now I'll tune out the story and just skip through it
okay finally got around to beating it. honestly the break didnt change much I was tapped out by the end
most of the game was okay
i think I'd prefer playing persona over metaphor honestly
a harder version of persona would be top
you reminded me i need to continue this game, was distracted by the saga-world
after rs2 remake i finished saga frontier, i didn't get the game as a kid but i enjoyed it this time around
playing scarlet grace now so far so good
nice
and still replaying because the game has like 6? characters so i replay it with a different character
i think having beaten metaphor now I don't think the game would ever deserve game of the year I feel like thats just prior reputation of the studio
what's +- of persona vs. metaphor you think?
its still good just not great
persona has a better concept of mixing the time management mechanics of your daily life with the overall story
it doesnt really fit well at all in metaphor and feels like it was just added in just because thats the style of their past games. having said that, metaphor is much better at doing the time management
metaphors time management felt balanced enough and comparable to persona 3
ah yeah the teleportation ship is too much of an asspull for me
as a story device
in terms of battle metaphor is better than most persona games
idk if there are more lore on it in the 2nd half of the game
if persona had the press turn combat system I think I'd be pretty happy with the series
as it is now persona 3 is the only one I think really does the idea of living one year of your life combined with battling in a dungeon well
4 and 5 are just 'we took 3 and made it easier and more bearable so therefore its good'
in terms of combat I mean
yeah i remember p3 has a more realistic party system like sometimes your party members aren't up for it and you can't pick them etc.
i think metaphor should have had a romance system I think it would ahve been fine and honestly it felt like they actually did have one but then decided to remove it for some reason
i think archetypes were novel but kind of a jank system especially in the last third of the game
having demons feels better
social links dont offer enough level to level
sometimes you'll just have levels where you get some bonus you really dont care about or cant even take advantage of
whereas in persona you always benefited because it gave an exp bonus
so yeah I think a game that was a combination of persona 3 and some parts of metaphor probably would be my ideal version
metaphor (smt lite) combat system should stay i think it's sick
yeah that part I liked
persona's combat system sucks honestly, 3's only worked because of all the stuff around it
not because of it specifically
haven't finished all links but the ones I did finish tbh I feel didn't have much depth like Strohl or Hulk idk
and they havent figured out how to balance the game so that the difficulty continues after the first 20% of the game
there were only a few boss fights in metaphor that I felt were fun and challenging
I honestly just can't get over the teleporting ship ig
yeah its dumb
again its a 'we need to explain how you can play the game like its persona but in this new fantasy world'
classig atlus
so overall, pretty good game, not great. not game of the year material and the pacing sucked in the second half
best dungeon was the dragon temple in the island area
and maybe the cathedral was okay
so game's downhill after dragon temple? that isn't promising
its not downhill its just paced weird
my favorite fight was a while after the dragon temple
because it was actually challenging for that point
but overall its paced like they ran out of budget
but i mean if they had done it wellt hen the game would have been way too long
because its long enough as it is
so its a hard problem
i don't think I'll ever play metaphor again even if there was an expansion, but I dunno we'll see.
I genuinely believe they should do away with social links in next metaphor iteration, I guess that's my pet topic
i could get behind that
i dont really think you need the persona mechanics
it was just an obligation they felt like they had to do
unless they change the style of metaphor to literally be living in a fantasy city
but if you're going on a typical hero adventure then I think they're better off thinking of new mechanics instead of just doing fantasy persona
or adapt it to that sort of game
i honestly would rather just play OG P3 again
Ngl I did feel the same way after dragon temple. My guess is budget or time constraints.
Ah you mention it when I scrolled down lol

nah isn't it only jank cuz of the stupid requirements for some archetypes?
like I think the system would be fine if you didn't need LVL 20 KNIGHT LVL 20 WIZARD LVL 20 ASSASSIN for every lategame class
or like the jank ass unlock system where u literally can't get some classes like tycoon until after they completely fell off
would like to see unlock quests tied to level for classes
2nd half pacing was off yeah
felt like it peaked at the operahouse
then imo was downhill from there
yes to those points, which is already a lot, but also the fact that royal types basically hard lock your characters to specific types of classes rather than letting you try different builds in the last third of the game. like the option is there so technically you could still do it but the moment you realize that you have royal types its kind of useless right? why even waste your time doing it.
everything else I typed in that still applies to archetypes, a demon system means you could allow an exp bonus from leveling your social links (like in persona) whereas a lvl 20 cap makes it harder to justify that without seeming overpowered
yeah I really dislike the royal classes and think they shouldn't be specific character bound
but I think the system works well if they're removed from teh game
instead of having persona with no weaknesses, archetypes are forced into mitigating only some of their weaknesses
admittedly, you don't actually need any of the busted personas to complete the game except for maybe the super boss?
but it's still way easier to completely break the game
yeah but thats because the combat system in persona is easy not because of the personas themselves.
nah I mean u can also make way more broken shit
like the all reflect heat riser buffbot
iirc you could only patch like 1/2 weakness in metaphor and then to do so you're giving up pretty significant dmg
it's been a hot minute since I played
but I mean at that point you could also just get the half turn cost synergy accessory or the end round if miss stuff as well. There's a lot of exploitable stuff in metaphor as well
I'm really more focused on archetypes in general I just think the way they did it in the game wasn't as good as everyone was saying and as it could have been
if it was a hybrid I would probably be more fine with it
also its dumb to me that in the game you're encouraged to unlock an archetype and then pump it with exp so you don't get a stat loss when changing jobs
rather than just instantly changing to it and benefiting from it

You're like a slug, late, slow, boring, and useless
I haven't finished it all this time
it has a || nice ending ||

I'll finish it after I get my new laptop or PC
here comes the 70 dollar extended content version of the game
They said they weren't gonna do it but if they do I'm gonna laugh
same man, I stopped playing it just before the last boss
Now I can't remember how to play to kill the damn thing and finish the game
