So LS have 2 combo at red gauge, the Triangle one which is a fast attack combo and R2 which is a Spirit Combo, you basically only do the 1st set of attack of each combo and spam in between them.

You go super fast and it's super safe as long you have the timing of counters (sheathed and not)

You apply wounds very easily too since it's fast and you have the dmg buff of red gauge

yeah no it frustrated me to no end when I finished the story, tried to focus more into counters for early hr stuff and i just couldn't do it

balahara constantly giving good windows and im just animation locked and couldnt get foresight slash or even an iaido

and i have fking speed sheathe so im doing something wrong

One of the advice I can give to someone trying to learn the timing of counter is to delay your hit because all 3 counters have different frames of proc. Foresight slash has the biggest window of proc (You can do it 1s before the attack ''hit'' you and you still proc it) while ISS has the shortest one (Need to almost do it right before the attack touch you) , Foresight slash in Red gauge is instant and pretty generous too

but yeah overall the skill ceiling of LS is mastering all 3 counters to a point where you don't even need to do a single attack outside of counter to kill a monster

Artian weapon test: Every mats rank 8, same type of element/status and lvl 0 out of 5.

At first sight, the elemental status effect doesn't look high up at all, only 100, compared to normal rank 8 (which is 200-250) however instead of elemental status, I tried with elemental dmg and it start at 300 which is equal to normal rank 8 (300-350).
This mean for elemental status, I need to get 2-3 roll out of the 5 given to be EQUAL to any normal rank 8 status effect where elemental dmg weapon will only need 1-2 roll out of the 5 to be BETTER than any normal rank 8 element dmg.

Artian elemental status (paralysis, poison, sleep, blast) weapon doesn't seems worth the pain since even if rng is with you, it will most likely be equal to any normal rank 8 weapons, however
Artian elemental dmg (fire, water, thunder, ice, dragon) weapon seems worth the rng since it only need one or two roll to be better than any normal rank 8 weapons.
