flat schooner
#

okay from the looks of it it thinks the ethernet is a USB device

#

and it says unrecognized USB device

never have had to before

I don't want to reinstall Windows :p

#

C'est la vie, then you're probably going to run into weird glitches

#

uninstall your current LAN driver and hope it installs the one from your new board

#

beyond that you're on your own

flat schooner
#

I've already uninstalled the old driver and reinstalled the new one nothing happened when I try and install the driver it says something about The network adapter not being detected and if it's in deep sleep mode to plug in the cable but nun

#

and when I try and run the troubleshooter in Windows it just says could not detect driver/ network adapter

vague folio
#

It's time to reinstall

flat schooner
#

as per normal

#

everyone's first solution has to stop being reinstall Windows it never works

vague folio
flat schooner
#

just updated my bios gimme a minute to get my pc back on

flat schooner
#

and I can still move it around but black screen

#

I was hoping the win+ctl+shift+b would do the trick but nope

vague folio
#

that's for graphical failure, not a corrupted Windows unfortunately

flat schooner
#

well I was hoping it was a graphical failure that's why I did it

vague folio
#

Aiai, that sucks.

flat schooner
#

I should have just left my computer alone and said screw the ethernet

#

either way restarting it got it back on for now

#

Is there anyway I can bypass me needing the pin and just use my password when it says set up my PIN

vague folio
#

you can try your password yes

#

but if it asks you to set it up... chances are you're screwed with that

flat schooner
#

I did specify in the above message it says "set up my PIN"

vague folio
#

does it let you proceed when going through those instructions

flat schooner
#

nope just freezes on the "just a moment" screen now

#

I can exit it and go back to the login screen but that's not very helpful

vague folio
#

thought so...

#

I have no quick and easy solution for that unfortunately, it's another Windows reinstall

flat schooner
#

useless, i got it on windows update it doing its thing after its done if its most likely still not working ill show you device manager

vague folio
# flat schooner

Okay, LAN is entirely missing. There should be a Realtek driver in there..

#

are there any question marks around in Device Manager in general?

flat schooner
#

this is the only thing

#

no question marks tho

vague folio
#

Not the best sign either, is anything plugged in that USB port?

#

I'm starting to think this motherboard is somewhat DOA

flat schooner
#

idk what usb port it is but seeings how everything i got plugged in is working prolly not

vague folio
flat schooner
vague folio
#

ugh

flat schooner
vague folio
#

This is everything that should've been required to make it work, even Microsoft's own driver would've worked...

#

I'm going to say the LAN port is faulty

flat schooner
#

when i try to install the driver from the website

vague folio
#

:(

#

I'm sorry

After a motherboard replacement, reinstall network adapters completely. Check if the adapters is enabled in Device Manager. Some motherboards require specific chipset drivers before network adapters function properly.

flat schooner
#

yes

#

i did that just before reinstalling windows

uneven sleet
#

welp!... there was a good chance...that pcie adapter caused some issues...
if you think you did test it..then using linux live session is your only option..to confirm whether its hardware or software issue...

flat schooner
#

and i just wiped my fucking ventoy drive uuuuhhhggggg

uneven sleet
#

it doesnt take long to recreate...

flat schooner
#

alright ill be back in a bit

uneven sleet
#

also...remove that pcie adapter..

#

if you are using it..

flat schooner
flat schooner
#

i gotta go track down my lapto

flat schooner
vague folio
#

In all likelihood it came DOA or there was an accident with the stand-off screws

flat schooner
#

well it was "renewed"

vague folio
#

ah, a refurb gone wrong
