if the school account is on the system as a "workplace or school account" then they can enforce certain policies including pin/password changes as a way to protect their data that may be on your system
I just checked the accounts that I have logged in on the device and my school account isn't one of them
the school account is only logged in on outlook.com on chrome
the only other account that Im logged into on the device itself is my parents account and from my knowledge that account isn't a workplace account either, and plus they haven't told me about any similar issue
although that might be because their old pc still used windows 7 (they got a new pc with windows 10 recently)
Is it listed under school and work accounts?
it is not
neither of these are my school account
That's a different settings page
I mean the school and work account page
sorry
@slim vine sorry to ping you but do you have any idea what's going on with it
do you have it set in outlook?
what set in outlook sorry?
your school account
right
it's one of my outlook accounts that I currently have logged in on chrome
hmm chrome shouldn't be able to change device policies
it shouldn't which is why I'm confused
plus, my school doesn't even have a rule like that
the school has never made us change passwords
are you using home or pro?
the windows version?
yup
home
so no policy editor
is that bad ðŸ˜
just means you probably can't change anything about the issue

so you have no idea why it's happening ðŸ˜
aaaaaa
i cant even find anything about it online
do you think this would work? it's on a thread from 2018 on win 10 but i could try right? @slim vine
sorry for the ping again
or it that only with pro ðŸ˜
tbh no idea
i'll just try all the commands that these guys are saying ig
I don't recommend running commands you don't understand, and at least set restore points before doing so^^
if i have a 64 bit OS i should change it to Win64 right
i know but i dont know what else to do
idek what a restore point is 😔
is it just this
@spring patrol do you have an idea what to do here?
okay i made the restore point at least
People don't like to hear it when I say "Reinstall Windows" 😔
I already had to do that with my old laptop because it was barely running
it's a pain though, I just transferred files from said old laptop back to this one and it took a while
cuz i had to go back and fourth with my 16GB USB a bunch of times
but if it's the only option
@spring patrol you dont think something like this would work on win11?
either of you think this'll work?
@slim vine again sorry for the ping (I'm sure I'm annoying you a little bit) but what do you think about this? and would it be safe to run the commands that I've seen online if I have a restore point?
restore points are made before problems happen, if you made one now that won't help much
most suggestions involve regedit from what i've seen, if they work is another question
i ran wmic UserAccount in the command prompt and it said that all my accounts were local accounts so it's not that
yeah i just
have no idea
