#"Your organisation requires that you change your pin"

I am not part of an "organisation", yet my laptop says this every once in a while and it is incredibly annoying. I do have a school outlook account but it isn't the account that I use on my laptop, so I don't know what this "organisation" could be.

if the school account is on the system as a "workplace or school account" then they can enforce certain policies including pin/password changes as a way to protect their data that may be on your system

the school account is only logged in on outlook.com on chrome

#

the only other account that Im logged into on the device itself is my parents account and from my knowledge that account isn't a workplace account either, and plus they haven't told me about any similar issue

#

although that might be because their old pc still used windows 7 (they got a new pc with windows 10 recently)

hmm chrome shouldn't be able to change device policies

merry bridge
#

plus, my school doesn't even have a rule like that

#

the school has never made us change passwords

slim vine
#

are you using home or pro?

merry bridge
#

so you have no idea why it's happening 😭

#

aaaaaa

#

i cant even find anything about it online

#

do you think this would work? it's on a thread from 2018 on win 10 but i could try right? @slim vine

#

sorry for the ping again

#

or it that only with pro 😭

slim vine
#

tbh no idea

merry bridge
#

i'll just try all the commands that these guys are saying ig

slim vine
#

I don't recommend running commands you don't understand, and at least set restore points before doing so^^

merry bridge
#

if i have a 64 bit OS i should change it to Win64 right

merry bridge
#

idek what a restore point is 😔

#

is it just this

slim vine
#

@spring patrol do you have an idea what to do here? AkkoThinking

merry bridge
#

okay i made the restore point at least

merry bridge
#

it's a pain though, I just transferred files from said old laptop back to this one and it took a while

#

cuz i had to go back and fourth with my 16GB USB a bunch of times

#

but if it's the only option

merry bridge
#

either of you think this'll work?

#

@slim vine again sorry for the ping (I'm sure I'm annoying you a little bit) but what do you think about this? and would it be safe to run the commands that I've seen online if I have a restore point?
