I have this old, 320GB, Hitachi, laptop thin 5V HDD drive. The other day, I tried opening this on my laptop, but whenever I plugged it in, any application to do with storage (Files, Disk Management, etc) just froze. But whenever I opened it up on my Elephas mini projector, it worked just fine. To make it even weirder, the HDD is from a Windows laptop. Does anyone have any ideas on why this is?
#HDD wont open on my laptop, but will on my projector??

your laptops usb port might not have enough power, you can try a different USB port or connecting to a powered USB hub
Hmmm... Ill give that a try, thanks!!
I don't believe that's it, because I have other HDDs that I can easily open without any problems.
weired, I believe I have sent a message here, but it disappeared
open device manager by using Win+X -> device manager, open the disk section, then connect the drive, to see if it get recognized (shown in the section)
It does.
Whats weird is whenever I plug it in, everything to do with storage (Files, Disk manager, CMD) all freezes until I unplug it.
@trail hamlet I'll have to intervene here, this won't have any benefits.
Ok fine. but that may actually fix it
maybe after plugging it into the projector it formatted itself as a weird propietary fomat
