Very common phishing scam, I get 100s of those a day. The software "Pegasus" has not infected your system. Turns out, you can send an email pretending to be any email address, however there are of course systems to validate if the person claiming to be ([email protected]) really is ([email protected]).
Do not send them any money, they are asking for Bitcoin so it cannot be traced by law enforcement/banks
Do not reply to their email, (just in case)
Mark the email as spam/phishing if your email app supports it.
So Yes, this is a scam. They will not be receiving $1700 from you anytime soon.
ok thank you, but how was it from my email?
ive had no logins from anywhere
Spoofing happens, it wasn't from you
