#Microphone Privacy Settings

I am playing Rust and my mic is not working in the game. I checked the microphone privacy settings and I see that Rust is not one of the apps listed that I can enable. It is also not one of the apps listed under "Let desktop apps access your microphone." I don't see a way to add Rust to the desktop apps, so I do not know how to enable my mic on Rust.

there is no way to add apps to that list in Settings—as they use your microphone, they are automatically added (and turned on by default, if the option to allow desktop apps to use your mic is also on).

you may want to take a look around Rust's settings to make sure your microphone is enabled and set correctly. unfortunately i don't play Rust so i don't know exactly what those settings look like, but if you want to describe them or send a screenshot i can help you take a look at them

can you press shift+tab when you have rust open to open the steam overlay, then open the settings menu there? there should be a settings tab or something about audio or mic, can you show me what's there?
