Ethernet capped to 100MB/s **PLEASE HELP**

I use Virgin media and my Ethernet is capped to 100 MB/s but the contract is minimum of 250 MB I have a Killer E2400 Gigabit Ethernet adapter, the cable I have is a cat 6, I have changed the cable and no difference. The max speed for my Speed and Duplex is only 100MB, but my router allows more than 100 MB/s

Go to Windows updates and check for new updates and if you see a driver update related to your ethernet controller install it

then go back to the network adapter properties

check the speed of the CONNECTION via adapter

you have to turn off the PSU of your computer to let the NIC reset after shutdown according to another answer

turn off the PC via shutdown, and then hit the PSU switch to shut it down after setting the network adapter to auto negotiation.

that being said

the issue with your network adapter is fixed

it just required a full power off including the psu to reset the auto negotiated value for the ethernet speed connection from 100mbps to a unselectable 1gigabit
