so what happened there was your account was phished from you

the asked for your email,
they entered that email into the Microsoft website and clicked "forgot password"
that caused a code to be sent to your account that you then gave to them

from there they reset your accounts password, logged in and changed the main alias - causing it to appear as if your account no longer exists

thats not something you can cancel without access to the account, well other than freezing your bank account or preventing payments to microsoft from that account

your best option is to follow the guide above, you'll end up in a livechat with a microsoft support agent who will fill out an account recovery form on your behalf
