#ASUS - Refresh rate changing on power source change
19 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
mine does the same thing, im not sure, but its probaly because the laptop updates the refresh rate, when not plugged in the laptop most likely uses a lower refresh rate, and if the refresh rate is at a higher state than when plugging it out it will turn black for some seconds to update the refresh rate.
If u open settings System > display > advanced display and update the refresh rate manually the screen will turn black for some seconds.
I tried to perform a clean boot so its not the default asus stuff that is installed that manages gpus
It still happens with no like apps running
Im not sure why it would chose to update the refresh rate now when it was working fine before
For now its an assumed software issue
sounds like your laptop makes a few changes when it's disconnected from the power source, my best guess is when your laptop switches from ac power to battery, it triggers a setting in performance, which is what affects your screen to go black temporarily.
The solution is to make sure all your drivers are up to date, to do that, go to device manager, then display adapters and see if something is not fully updated
Theyre all updated
The only things in event log was power-kernel detecting the change and asus armory crate doing some program switch butt it still happen on a clean boot so it cant be the asus
But still, i dont understand why it would randomly have to turn to a black screen when it previously made those changes without flaws
