#Left a downloading program on overnight and my disk drive space went to 312mb

What happened was;
Left a YouTube video downloader program on overnight by mistake on my computer's main drive
At some point, my laptop went to sleep, even though I had it set not to. I don't know if that was it trying to stop further storage from being full. Why would it go to sleep? I had set it in power settings not to do that. Is it related to the storage running out?
Almost an entire day later, I realize my laptop was off, I woke it up, and noticed it was at 312mb storage left, and the program had stopped. Storage sense has also turned on.
I moved what it saved to my external hard drive, but I'm worried it deleted stuff in my recycle bin to make up for the space lost, or something.
How can I see what may have been recently permanently deleted? Using Windows 11. Would anything have been deleted from my external hard drive in this sort of situation where my C drive was full? I notice that stuff I moved to the recycle bin from the external hard drive is still in the recycle bin from over a month ago and wasn't deleted by storage sense.

Open file explorer
Go to the This PC tab
It should show you your local disk, right click on it and click properties
In the general section, under capacity click details (should be located under the circle)
See where most of your storage is going and uninstall it
It’s not a virus
I moved what it was downloading to my external hard drive
I just want to know if windows 11 deletes important files if the space gets too low on the C drive
And why it shut off
And if it would ever delete files on external drives
Like if storage sense would ever do that
you can see if you have the feature on in settings > storage sense
it automatically turned on while i was away from my computer
it may have deleted stuff from the recycle bin
yes it looked like that
but it auto-turned on
last night
i hope i'm making sense
what happened was on wednesday night i left something on to download a youtube channel
i mean
for a whole day it was doing that
i don't think that it'll turn back
and eventually my c drive got too full
and i guess my laptop shut off
my c drive was down to just 312mb full
when i turned it back on
the only reason why i could think it turn back on which is to delete the temp files so that windows has enough storage to function
is there ever a situation where windows would start deleting files from an external hard drive due to low storage space on the c drive
because i had an external hard drive plugged in
if you can answer this, why did it get to 312mb free for space and stop there
how didn't it get lower
i personally don't use a external drive because 1. i use a laptop & 2. i don't do professional things
do you know of any reason why windows would do that though
windows 11 i mean
