Hello! i have a very big problem, i have a microphone that windows killed it, it was a no-name microphone, but it worked perfectly fine from the last June that i've bought it, When Windows "detected a new device" it just died, On discord didn't worked, i entered in Settings - Choose your sound imput device - Tested my microphone, got a 0% sound, i tied to troubleshoot it, it said that it found the problem and i should restart for it to fix, nothing happend at all, i have no other microphone, and plus windows also killed the preinstalled micophone chip from the laptop itself that it was impossile to repair. The microphone that i have now is also hella expensive, If i need to waste money on another microphone, i will move on MacOS or Linux.
This is a photo with my mic.
#Windows anihilated my mic.

Have you tested it on another device to verify that the microphone itself is still in working order? That’s definitely the first step if not
(Using the same exact plugs and connectors you’re using here)
I have no other device to test the microphone except the laptop that i already know it doesn't work
do this i will move on MacOS or Linux
The microphone itself may be broken
If that’s the case then it doesn’t matter what operating system you use
It's not the mic, it works because when you talk, you can also hear your voice if the headphones is connected to them, but it's not detected by any sound tester at all
Make sure your mic is enabled and set to default. Its volume is on 100 and that these 2 checks are checked. To open that settings menu type in your search "mmsys.cpl" without quotes and open that file.
Ok, i will try
Sure, assuming you’re directly plugging in headphones into the mic though it’s STILL possible the internal components that handle connectivity to the pc (and not to your headphones) don’t work
It has no volume levels. can you tell me how to fix it?
I hope there is a way to repair it.
If audio is coming through the headset maybe unplug that and use a 3.5mm-3.5mm plug to the computers line in
Then just plug headphones in the computer instead If into the mic itself
from the looks of it, the volume is set physically using the mic's volume knob
tried it, it doesn't work
