#Update KB5034441 - error 0x80070643
125 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
That's the same issue i have too
Hey there @pliant crypt and @abstract flax can you explain the issue?
Like what the screen says, what happens, everthing
from what I read (buckle up)
This new update supposedly fixes a Bitlocker vulnerability, but it fails because the WinRE partition is too small to fit in the update. The post title contains both the update code and error code
I have tried to use diskpart to forcefully reset the recovery partition and create a bigger one, but it didn't fix the issue, and this happens when I try reagentc /enable:
Alright, Hang tight while i look into the update
It's likely broken
Broken update
The update is not in my catalog
I saw it on windows community
@pliant crypt Back everything up, Then reinstall windows 10
.... what the f-
No seriously?
Learn how to reinstall Windows on your PC and how activation works after it's installed.
It's a issue
Yeah
And it doesn't help that the update doesn't exist in my catalog
@pliant crypt Sorry, the clean uninstall deletes everything, i would suggest you backup to the cloud
I don't have a hdd or cloud big enough to back everything up to
Plus I use this pc for everything, I use it for work, programming. It would be a huge hassle to reset everything
I apologize but it is what you need to do
you could alternitively back up to a USB but then you would need a second usb for the clean install
I don't have a windows 10 stick
Alternatively you could call your devices manufacturer:

Like the logo on your laptop
Ohhh I use pc
is it prebuilt?
I live in Romania
Idk if it's gonna help
My country is strict on foreign phone numbers
Im not sure how to help
look up, "Best Buy Geek Squad [Whatever your country's toll free Aria code is] Phone Number
i cant spell
maybe there is another thing I could try
For now I will try to fix the reagentc error
then I will just hide the update with a tool I have
How
Mine doesn't work
Do I have to do reset thing
No don't do that
It's not necessary .-.
Look at Windows update
And try refreshing
the update button
I'm on bed
well anyways that's how it went
Well there should be a Retry updating button or something
See if more stuff comes up
Mk
?
hi, im also having the same problem with the new update since this morning, im a little scared to try using cmd prompt and fix it myself like mutty did, should i just wait? and is it safe to restart my computer with the download error to install the pending cumulative update?
try windows update again
See if more stuff comes up rather than just the troublesome update
maybe microsoft sent a patch for their stupid mistake
2 hours to fix this
You gonna click retry a million times
did you manage?
when i click retry it skips straight to "installing - 0%" and puts the error msg back up
try restarting your computer
and get set the other update
Anyways, no big alarms
Yall don't need to reset your pc to fix this
Okay
o thank god
I thought I will get heart attack from it
I got 5 while trying to get it working =)))
same lol, im afraid of data loss
ok it finished up really quick but seems that the error message changed, ig theyre aware of the problem
You could try the hard way like I did but... honestly it's better if you leave it alone
What I did requires iso mounting, usage of command prompt and very specific instructions
yeah, im afraid of screwing something up
Anyways, it's a common problem
Because Microsoft didn't take into account some stuff
apparently it fixed a BitLocker exploit or smth
But most Recovery partitions are too small
And not only that
it displays the incorrect error code as well
If you want to hide it from the list I know a way
Bitlocker
Yes BitLocker
What's that
I don't think my ST HDD have that
It's recent
I see
1 am
2 AM for me
Sleep
