#I NEED HELP RESTORING WINDOWS UPDATE

because they're going to suggest you do a clean install
did you make a backup of your registry before going ahead and deleting sections of the hive?
given how much is modified in the registry and the fact you didn't make a backup, i'd go with C:\Windows\System32 trail of thought and also suggest a clean install
i have many things
You should always have a backup of irreplaceable files anyway so if you don't already, now's a good time to start
and the video guides you to delete many more than 2 subkeys
A clean install would be your best bet
IMO
that will not fix your registry
And /-\ could confirm
backup your files, do a clean install like C:\Windows\System32 suggested
Either put windows onto a usb or if possible go to bios>trouble shoot> Reset
Or advanced options> reset
Or you could do it in settings
I don’t remember the settings path tho
Reset via bios
Shoot
In bios you can select keep all files or delete all
But for system restore @rose solstice would be your best bet
@timber aurora I would suggest you put everything onto a usb and backup to a usb, BUT select delete everything just to be safe
Then back up to cloud
(If you have a Microsoft acc)
If it asks for a recovery key then Goto https://aka.ms/myrecoverykey
Doing a reset will remove everything and reinstall windows
I would suggest you don’t but ok, if that doesn’t work then select delete everything
The cloud backups can be configured when setting up windows
Remember, when selecting delete everything, it will delete everything.
What does this mean? You need to reinstall everything
Imagine me when I reset my computer
GTA V took 5 hours
Hope I helped
