but how do i do that
im just looking any alternative than resetting i hav eway too many programs lol im just happy theres hope but how do i fix it?
First, is the Wifi SSID is set with captive portal?
um idk is there a place i can check for you like in wifi ssettings
no, when connecting to the wifi, were you prompted to redirect your browser to accept some usage agreement?
nope
you're connected to the wifi, but the AP isn't giving you any route to the Internet
ik what u mean like some library wifi asking you to accept something, mine didnt require that
the best way, is to delete the saved connection and connect again
you need to know the wifi password/have the credentials when reconnecting.
i mean yeah i know so you want me to forget the wifi and reconnect or something entirely different?
forget the wifi and reconnect.
still the same but for a second it was connected
and i can use the internet fine rn
like this for a second then it turns to this
is that the issue?
okay, it seems the AP/router is denying Internet access for your device.
is that thing yours? if so, log in into its administration page and check whether your device MAC got blacklisted from connecting to the Internet.
log in into its administration page
RTFM for this
uh ye this is my device, this is my parents internet though
also
ipconfig /all
and show the current IP configuration details of the wifi adapter
in cmd i assume, oki
you could be 1. no route/gateway to the Internet on either or both IPv4/IPv6, 2. manual IP config that doesn't have gateway/wrong private IP range
is it cause the registry editor?
not neccessary, you shouldn't in the first place
don't alter something that you don't comprehend
i did alter some of the things there from a tutorial on microsoft support, i regret it now cuz idk how to revert it
I don't think MS support would suggest registry editing for a simple networking issue
so what should i do here
Uh idk should i jsut take a screenshot of the command prop
when i used ip config all
where can i show you?
the output is literally bunch of text that you can copy and paste here.
just find the wifi adapter configuration. no need for the others

okay configuration is DCHP
but your DHCP doesn't give you external DNS IP, except itself and 2603:900a:20f0:8230::1
is this your ISP?
Charter Communications, Inc
I strongly suggest you login to the AP/router and check the DNS for the LAN (DHCP), and also if your MAC is blacklisted.
Your wifi MAC A8-93-4A-96-EA-35
idk how to
i mean again im just not the internt providert its my parents
there a video thats on yt maybe? that you suggest
i don't really want to suggest youtube video. that's why RIM.
because when the same shizz happened, you know where and what to look for.
hm oki im just confused a bit
okay uhh heres this guess ill ask my mother
ughh i dont wanna reset my computer ๐ฃ
its not just this internet i hope that helps
its any internet
one of those ISP customized AP eh. In this context, you may wanna context your ISP on the troubleshooting.
that doesn't apply to your situation
your server doesn't give you any valid DNS from its DCHP config
and more likely your wifi device may got blacklisted from connecting to the Internet
ok ok if thats the case ill ask my mom and see if its true but i can still use internet now like rn
this is why it is essential to check in the AP/router
the issue isn't related to Windows in the first place.
but why is it happening to every internet i connext to..
because it is possible your device got black listed,
do you understand what blacklisted mean?
no sry '
it's literally blocked your from connecting to the Internet
ask your parent whether they did it
ok ok doesnt make sense why i can still use the internet but ill ask
how can you connect while this says not?
please don't contradict yourself
^
what's the relation?
it's a problem involving your current device, not others.
yes
well i just wanna let you know what this says it shows that theres no internet connected but i can go to webites and i can send msgs here just fine
i hope it makes sense
this isn;t a bug. it literally tells you that you have no access to the local network
you're accesing them from a different device.
not that computer.
you said it yourself
at the start yeah i think i messed up my wording im sry
but no im using the same device
you just confused and contradict yourself. If you don't want to do what I advised you to do, it's fine.
sigh ok ๐
if you do understand what i mean now lemme know whati can try next btw, ill uh wait for her to wake up
might go back to this
mom says she hasnt recieved any information on anything being blacklisted
now what
alright i fixed it
Reset All Windows Permissions To Default Settings With One Click
I have seen so many computers with permission issues either where malware has changed permission on Windows 10 or Windows 11 and then people can't access the registry, windows updates, windows defender, group policy, command prompt, or any other essential feature on windows. People...
