Hey folks, I got a new (old) laptop: a Lenovo Ideapad 320-15IAP Barely used, so the battery still lasts, and I'm looking forward to using it for coding/school work. Problem is, it's terribly slow. It has a 1.1Ghz Celeron and 4GB of DDR3L ram at 800Mhz, according to CPU-Z. SO, I want to upgrade the ram but I can only find 1600mhz DDR3L ram online. Would that be a problem? The manual only says DDR3L and nothing else: [look up lenovo ideapad 320-15iap ram. there will be a forum post on the lenovo forums and in one of the responses there will be the manual link. im not sure why lenovo links are blocked here but whatever] (page 29).
TL;DR: I have a Lenovo Ideapad 320-15IAP and I wanna upgrade the ram but I'm not exactly sure what kind of ram to get (I know i need to get DDR3 Lite but im not sure about the speed or clXX or whatever). Any help is appreciated :-)

On an added note, i looked up the ram (samsung M471B5173EB0-YK0) and it does say that its 1600mhz, all considered i should be safe buying whatever as long as it matches voltage or something (1.35V)

I've looked and yes 8 GB DDR3L is on its parts list so it is compatible with it

#

If you haven't I'd also recommend an upgrade from HDD to SSD if it still has a HDD as well

#

But uhh... celerons deserve to die in fires unless they are Chromebooks

and you see celerons in "consumer" laptops everywhere

when theyre basically unusable with any modern os

#

altho im using atlasos for speed puproses so that fixes a lot of it

#

its fine for basic multitasking. i can run vscode with spotify and discord open in the background just fine

#

also im guessing a 2.5inch ssd will work just fine, but im gonna look into that aswell

#

still i think the difference will be night and day especially in windows.
