#Windows installation media does not see internal SSD as target

Had to completely wipe a Precision 5580 from the BIOS. Attempting to rebuild using a bootable USB with Windows that I have successfully used on other computers in the past. However, the computers internal SSD is not listed as a target to install Windows. It doesn't appear at all. The flash drive I am booting from is labeled as C: and my configuration thumb drive is labeled D:. It says it cannot find any drivers for anything else?? I have booted into Linux (Lbuntu preview on an 8GB thumb drive) where I am able to view the internal SSD but cannot mount it. I have tried installing GNOME disk utility but am just getting errors on errors (possibly because I have not installed Linux?) Wondering if anyone has seen this before or has any tips.

I currently have access to (on the computer):
Dell system BIOS
Windows installer from flash drive (cannot see SSD)
Old Lbuntu distro on a flash drive loads up. Can see SSD but it isn't mounted and I can't figure out how to format it.
The media I am trying to get running is Windows 10.

Can send pictures but anything I'm trying to look at more than likely requires a reboot and thus will reset my Linux to factory settings, so please lmk what specifically you'd want to see.

you need a driver prob, that is just a windows installer bug I think

#

if linux is having problems its more concerning

#

but will need more info

Okay, I've attempted to download the relevant driver from Dell, but it saves as an executable and cannot be found later when looking for it. I think the executable itself is an installer, but I can't exactly run it in Linux. I could try running it on a different computer, but I think I'd just end up installing the driver onto said computer, and not have a usable version on the flash drive

I mean.... can you make sure thats the right and only driver, and linux can run windows programs through wine

modern wasp
#

maybe it can, but my shitty Lbuntu flash drive may or may not be able to use wine

#

I suppose I could reimage my thumbdrive with a new distro

modern wasp
#

how would I run it through wine anyway?

#

assuming I can get it working?
