Hi
I bought a samsung SSD drive but in order to connect it to a pc, I also bought a box with which I can connect it to a pc via USB C cable but I don't have a USB C port so I ended up with a USB C -> A 3.0 reduction. I connected the cable with the reduction to the computer to the USB 3.0 port (Blue color) but the speed is like USB A 2.0 and even windows shows me a message that the device can run faster if I put it in 3.0. How to solve this and what makes it this slow? I have windows 10, latest update and drivers updated
#USB 3.0 port is slow as 2.0

if the usb is 2.0, it wud be 2.0.. Otherwise, the adapter wud be to blame
Reduction from USB C -> A 3.0 and the port in the computer have blue color ( I also tried other USB ports) and if the reduction was somehow bad, why would windows tell me to plug it somewhere else?
again, if the usb is 2.0 it wud be 2.0.. Otherwise the adapter wud be to blame
plugging a 2.0 usb to 3.0 doesn't make it 3.0 nor 3.1, and vice versa
Samsung SSD is USB 3. I assume the Samsung SSD is a T7 as they are the common type of SSD (I have a few on hand and I run VMs from this thing)
I don't actually know the solution as the issue is not occuring for me but just wanted to point this out
Also I don't think any SSD sold these days (except sketchy ones) have USB 2
According to the motherboard manual I even have USB 3.1 ports and I have these drivers in device management. Do I need a different one or install another one? 🤔
So I found that on the front side the blue USB port somehow does not work correctly and on the back side where I have 4 blue USB ports so just at the one that was the last free so it also does not work too and the others yes... so I can finally enjoy a faster SSD and not have to wait an hour to move files
