I've turned standby off in the power plan

#

Yet it seems to still be going into some form of standby from the Event Viewer:

The one not listed is Modern Standby i.e. S0. It's the new idle/low power management by modern CPUs/BIOS.
You can search on how to disable this on your own accord.

I don't think it's my BIOS, Linux doesn't do this, only Windows

Modern Standby in an actual practice isn't "sleep". Just low power during idle.

#

It's not Windows, it's literally the feature of modern CPUs.

You're panicking over something new.

#

Well like 7 years old "new"

No, I'm panicking because I'm missing messages... it seems my phone thinks Slack is still online

#

yet my laptop doesn't make a noise in this mode

#

so I completely miss any messages

#

I'm not entirely sure how this feature has activated itself on my laptop in the last few weeks,... it was fine before

#

but anyway, I'll try to turn it off... at least listening to user preferences in Power Options or giving us a simple toggle would be nice... maybe I'll write a feedback...

can't believe I'm back to regisry hacking to turn things off
