If you really use it charging for long times on end: set a charging limit yeah, 60-80% or so.
If you don't use it connected to AC mainly, or if you need every last drop: Just leave it on default
yeah ig ill go ith the former option btw can i just unplug my battery? i am not sure if it will work as my laptop isnt an old laptop where u can remove the battery easily . now i have to unscrew the screws and stuff, but my question is it safe? like more safe than doing the former solution? for the next 2 years i will literally keep using my laptop at home
my laptop is HP pavilion. i can send u the model number if u want
In theory you could unplug it but I recommend against that...
I'd just set a charging limit and it should be fine
Otherwise you'd have to open it up again, plug the battery back in and all that just to take it with you and use the battery for once.
And if you think about it- during a power outage or smh you'd still have a battery to safely shut down your pc rather than it just immediately losing power.. Extreme case but just another example
yeah i see, thank you so much
ssorry for the ping again , i have heard some people on the internet saying stuff like
it's fine to leave your laptop plugged in even when the battery is fully charged. When plugged in, the laptop receives its power from the wall outlet and the battery in effect serves as a “Battery Backup Device
does that mean that setting a charging limit is not needed?
If you sometimes briefly unplug your laptop and use it on battery and it then charges fully again when you plug it in it would just be a waste
What setting the charging limit would do is that when you unplug it and idk use it for only 20% is that it would only start charging when it gets below the limit.
I unplug it: it is 100%
I use 20%
Plug it in again > but it doesn't start charging
You don't really have to set a charging limit but I would recommend it if you keep it plugged in most of the time but not always
So if you really never unplug it then just leavingit is fine
